Turbotax is essential for accurate tax reporting

TurboTax Premier - Desktop is essential to ensure accurate tax reporting. The reason that I did not give it 5 stars is because the complete package should come out before December 31 so that I can use it for final provisional / estimated taxes in the tax year.

Not good this year

The software was not user friendly this year. It is also far too expensive, then you have to pay an additional $45 to download the state & an extra $25 on top of that to file the state. It's ridiculous.

Each year becomes more like a video game

Good news. It appears this year the data from last year successfully imported. Last year I had to enter much of it by hand. Bad news. Changes were made to importing data from financial institutions. Using the importing dialog boxes worked; but, this created a new dialog box for the same institution; displaying two dialog boxes. The trash can to delete the unused on didn't work. In the past, TTax clearly listed the organizations one page and allowed editing each in order. Each edit clearly showed all imported data. These changes look like some coders writing code with on care nor understanding of what they are doing. Before making changes, have long term users look at them to see if they make things more clear. With such blatant errors it appears no one tested them out.

TurboTax does not alert the Filer to penalty and interests you may have paid from a refund. You have to check on the 1040 then there's no explanation.
