Turbo Tax Premier has changed some processes

I have used TurboTax for a number of years, so I was familiar with many of the Turbo Tax processes. However, this time there appeared to be a different approach to recording data from my investments. This difference makes me worry a bit...the summative numbers appear to be noticeably different from prior years. Oh well.

IN MOST CASES THE INSTRUCTIONS WERE CLEAR CUT BUT NOT BEING A CAP, IHAD SOME DIFFICULTIES DETERMINING EXACTLY WHAT DATA WAS BEING DEFINED

TurboTax is reliable if not fun to use

TurboTax is still OK. It gets the job done, for a not insignificant cost.
If you have a very simple return, you should use one of the free products.
In recent years TurboTax has become saturated with intrusive offers to purchase additional services from Intuit.
It is possible to navigate around all these and get the work done.
Decades of habit keep me from considering alternatives.
If I were starting fresh, I would probably evaluate alternative products. But I would read lots of reviews to make sure people have had solid experiences.
Even though I don't find using TurboTax enjoyable, it does get the job done for me.

First year it failed me

Turbo Tax is usually my fail safe; however this year there was an issue with the program where I had to delete & re-enter a 1099-NEC. I did nothing wrong, but I had to pay $60 to have my issue resolved because of a glitch in Turbo Tax. I was not pleased!
That being said, the agent (Patrick) who helped me was very helpful & was able to resolve my issue.

Turbo Tax has been greatly enhanced!

I appreciate the improvements made regarding Exercise of Employee Stock Options. I also appreciate the addition to produce 1099NEC's. Turbo Tax asks all the necessary questions to produce excellent tax returns.

Didn't work properly

There were two glitches in the software:
I couldn't import Forms 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, and Schedule B (stocks and bond sales).
I couldn't save the report using File > Save. Every time I clicked "File," the file closed unexpectedly.

Great (when it works)

Easy to use but when it hits a bump you're in trouble. Bought state e-file but had problems with return rejected over AGI. Could not fix and had to file by mail, now cannot file state by e-file so just lost $25.
