Lacking Adequate Info to LOAD,Set-up,Create,Start

Missing too much info to guide loading, setting up, creating, startg TTx on a iMac. Expects user to know all steps and answers like it is daily routine instead of better holding my hand. Doesn't tell me if TTx is off looking for info, or processing something so I'm left wondering if it even started. May have needed a dbl click to start yet. Who knows ? Not enough prompts as to what is going on. Didn't automatically recognize last years tax records on the external flash drive that was plugged in when TTx started like it used to do on my old PCs. Instead you must know to say this computer instead of immediately finding/offering an external data source, and the pop dwn list is empty. GOTTA PLAY LAWYER AND LOOK AT FINE PRINT BELOW to find the Blue link to finally go find external memory. Too much Rube Goldberg pathing. AND once a return is presented after telling TTx to use the external drive, the default 'save' location I still the iMAC instead of the external drive.

I like tt, but this year experienced difficulty editing/removing errant input. had to contact tt, which helped.

Got all the way to the last step for filing, then had to answer additional questions regarding Form 1099-Rs that did not have a check mark in Block 7, Distribution Code. Why not ask those questions as I'm entering the data from those forms? Several of the 1099-Rs were from the same financial institutions, but the program didn't specify to which the question referred. Fortunately, all the answers turned out to be "none of the above".

Turbotax is good but setup can be tough

Purchased software, VERY difficult because it wouldn't accept the license key #. We called, got it straight with a very knowledgeable lady. WE had to do the taxes TWICE!!!!

$25 gouge at the end for California is a giant pain. Give me the total package cost up front so I don't have to log into Intuit and enter a bunch of stuff.

Easy to use and input info. Didn't care for the 1099 review section when having multiple 1099's from the same brokerage. Individual 1099's are not identified by account number or document number.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
