[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best little compact chopper I’ve ever had! So easy to operate and it’s size is perfect to take in our caravan!

Germ Trap Lid size is everything 5KFC0516ACU

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this product to help cut veggies up not to make mayonnaise or dips.
I am very disappointed with its capacity to chop, they say 5 cup but they also say don’t fill more than half way to allow contents room to chop. So this is a 2.5 cup (very small).
The 3.5 cup- would be totally useless only good for chopping garlic as it would be only a 1.5 cup. Perhaps the 9 cup (4.5) would have suited better.
But apart from size/capacity there is one major fault which would span over all Kitchenaid Choppers, that is the lid.
I lid is made up of 2 plastic components clear plastic and a black plastic component on top, they have a hinge that joins them, Upon washing the product jug, lid and cutting parts I noticed beads of water were trapped in between the black and clear plastics components . Trying to separate not wanting to force them apart to dry off completely, I decided to telephone Kitchenaid Australia and was advised by their Customer Service that the lid does not separate and I should put it on the window sill to dry off? Germs by nature are sometimes visible or not visible ie: microscopic. There is no physical way you can dry/clean the lid manually completely.
If you have a build-up of microscopic germs over time, I would consider it could become a serious health risk. I guess you could sterilize the lid by boiling it in water but will the plastic melt in boiling water, none of this is covered in the user instructions?
Overall the design is ok but for a large company like Kitchenaid the design of the lid is poor The motor and housing is robust, but the size and germ factors are of significant disappointment.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have many Kitchenaid appliances in almond cream - Artisan mixer, blender, handmixer, toaster, kettle and now a food chopper. As with ALL my Kitchenaid purchases, the quality in unsurpassed! Strongly manufactured, timeless designs and quality, make these products the best on the market, in my opinion. To think, I still have more that I would love to buy and add to my beautiful collection!

Should have got the 7cup for the little extra money, 5 cup is way to small for almost everything. My only disappointment

Unfortunately we don’t have the 5 cup food processor in any shop to view it, just the 7 cup. I ordered the 5 cup because of what it was shown to do on Youtube but it immensely small and I am highly disappointed in it. On YouTube It looks large but when I received it it is way smaller than expected. I wish there was some way I can perhaps exchange it for a 7 cup and I’m willing to pay the difference.

Great to purée cooked food

This mini processor seems to process cooked foods to a smooth consistency. I love the small oil compartment that drizzles oil into the ingredients. Other foods such as nut creams and pesto were left a bit chunky but still ok. The appliance feels a little flimsy but ok.
