Buyer Beware!!!

Just bought this processor. I had another one that quit working after 6 years. I discovered a MAJOR design flaw in this model. Since when did the design diverge from the locking container top to the motor body. My other one locked which made it easy to carry around for storage etc. I picked this one up by the handle and the motor dropped on my foot breaking a toe. Thanks Kitchenaid!! For that stupid design oversight!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Junk Processor

This processor has only experienced light usage since purchased- shredded cheese and making breadcrumbs occasionally. However, the handle just slid off the bowl one day when I lifted it from the base. I looked into getting a replacement bowl to no avail. I have been using it as is, but I need to press the spring on the side to get it going, but this is becoming less reliable. I am a loyal Kitchenaid customer but feel so disappointed by the quality of this item
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Simple, powerful, versatile

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have put off buying a food processor for years, thinking they take up too much space and have too many pieces to keep track of. But I got tired of trying to use my blender to process ingredients, so finally bought my Kitchenaid, and I couldn't be happier. It's simple, powerful and versatile. Easy to set up, use and clean. It's great for processing down ingredients, grating and fine slicing.
One thing I will say is that mine had a very strong plastic/chemical smell out of the box. I washed all the parts in hot water and soap, though, and that took care of it, although the base still exudes a bit of an odor. But that's more of a manufacturing side effect than a real issue.
Overall, top marks. I now have a suite of bright red Kitchenaid equipment - this food processor, as well as a stand mixer, hand mixer, immersion blender and ice cream maker - and I feel equipped to handle pretty much any cooking challenge.
I would recommend this to a friend!
