Started smoking first use

Bought this Food Processor 5 days ago. First opportunity to use it was last night, and it started smoking while using it. Granted, it was under some strain as I was mixing meat for meatballs, but it was not overloaded. It would stop, smoke and then not start until I unlocked and relocked the main container unit. After this, it would start again and then stop, smoke and only restart after unlocking and locking. I halved the amount I was processing and the problem stopped. Not sure what to do at this point, Kitchen Aid, suggestions?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It's a workhorse for its size

Perfect for a smaller kitchen or dorm. Does almost everything the larger models do, but smaller. Has blade/slicer storage inside the bowl.

Base is Dead

We received this as a wedding gift...it was the first thing we registered for. Used it about 10 times (not even to its full potential) and when we went to use it about a week ago the base was dead and didn’t turn on. We tried every plug in the kitchen, turning off and on our circuit breakers, and nothing.
So disappointing, considering I thought this top of the line product would last for years to come. Now what do we do??

Very poor motor quality

UPDATE: I HAVE SENT MANY EMAILS TO THE EMAIL-ID IS PROVIDED IN THE REVIEW REPLY, BUT NO RESPOND YET. NOT EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE OF MY EMAIL FOR WEEKS. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING.
I so disappointed as my 7 Cup plus food processor stopped working all sudden in less than a year of use. I don't know why the quality of kitchenaid products have gone down so much. I wish they work on making better quality products verses creating new line of products. I have owned many other brands small appliances but was a big fan until now. I tried to reach by email, no reply yet.
