A bit disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this Kitchen Aid food processor from my daughter for Christmas to replace my old Cuisinart version. With the other one, I could securely lock in the bowl, but this one just sits on top and it comes up without much pressure. I like the way it comes apart for easy cleaning. My biggest complaint however, is how the lid arches high off the blade. This allows unprocessed food to get stuck up there. I use the processor for grating cheddar cheese and large chunks get stuck around the feeder tube. I have the same problem with carrots. It’s just a design flaw that I don’t think can be fixed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Its okay

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It works okay, it smells funny if used for more than a few seconds, and I'm not too keen on the way the life locks down(a metal buckle) it seems like its going to snap off, and when i re bleach over the lid the lock doesnt stay in place it justs swings around and seems like it's going to break off

High Quality Highly Effective

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this because it looked like a quality product. And after using it for a couple of months now, it lives up to its looks. All the parts fit together with very satisfying precision. And, the processor has a very heavy duty feel to it. I use this processor strictly for chopping vegetables. I steam them for several minutes so they remain pretty hard when they come out of the steamer. It's time consuming to chop them by hand for this reason. But, with this processor I can chop them in a minute, saving me a lot of time. It worth every penny.

We got this as a wedding gift a few months ago and had only used it once. When we tried to use it a second time, the processor would not turn on. Disappointed that the motor burnt out after the first use.

Stopped working abruptly

After about a year and a half of light use, the food processor stopped working in the middle of making a batch of hummus. There was a slight smell of burnt plastic, so I unplugged it, and let it cool down, and tried turning on again after 15 minutes, 3 hours, and even 8 hours, but had no luck. I double and triple checked that is was getting power, tried multiple outlets, and double checked that everything was assembled correctly. It's a shame that it died after less than 2 years, as I really like the compact size and the way the bowl assembles.
