Started smoking first use

Bought this Food Processor 5 days ago. First opportunity to use it was last night, and it started smoking while using it. Granted, it was under some strain as I was mixing meat for meatballs, but it was not overloaded. It would stop, smoke and then not start until I unlocked and relocked the main container unit. After this, it would start again and then stop, smoke and only restart after unlocking and locking. I halved the amount I was processing and the problem stopped. Not sure what to do at this point, Kitchen Aid, suggestions?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is so easy to use, and quick easy cleanup! I bought this for my daughter and I have used it numerous times. I am now going to buy one for myself because I enjoy the size, the ease of using it, everything comes out just as it should. Mary 66

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used to use a smaller sized food processor, this 7 cup one is just perfect for making scorns, pie crust, and pesto sauce. It’s easy to remove the lid and clean. I wish there were more color options.
