Surprisingly, it has greatly improved usability.

But I'm disappointed with LTE, I thought it would work like the smartwatches of Apple and Samsung.

Great watch but not very durable.

Fuctonally this watch is a major upgrade from my Forerunner 945. I haven't had a chance to test it off the grid yet but I'm happy with the run metrics and quick GPS connection. One MAJOR dissapointment is how easy it is to scratch and scuff the "titanium" bezel. Within 2 days there are marks from simply putting my hands in a coat pocket and brushing past a zipper. Or minor bumps from daily wear at the office.

Outstanding Watch from a Brand I Trust

I’ve been a longtime fan of Garmin, and the fēnix® 8 Pro continues to prove why. This watch is incredibly well-built, reliable, and packed with features that actually matter—whether you’re training, hiking, traveling, or just going about your day.
The performance, battery life, and accuracy are exactly what I’ve come to expect from Garmin, and the fēnix 8 Pro raises the bar yet again. It’s intuitive, rugged, and refined all at once, and it feels like a true premium tool rather than just another smartwatch.
Garmin consistently delivers products that you can depend on, and this watch is no exception. Keep up the great work—this is another home run.

4 stars because no Apple Music but gave a 5

Switch from apple. Took a minute to adjust to it. The only notifications that do not come through are my messages from my iphone but from all other apps notifications such as Discord, Facebook etc. they do appear. I would suggest to them to attempt to add Apple Music since it is the app i pay for and would prefer to avoid another subscription and if possible partner up with major phone companies as paying for service on it is, although cheap, frustrating. It’s already costly and i would have expected to have that option. My fault for not reading into it. Favorites things about it: i love that, unlike apple, it actively tracks all my steps and calories burned. Which apple did tend to lack in that department. Incredible battery life, apple was a days worth and done. I went two weeks without charging it. Actively monitoring my heart rate, not something i need but love that feature. It does have starbucks app for on the go runners, very convenient plus adding cc (note major banks only, smaller unknown banks pose a small setup issue or are unable to be added). For on the go active folk, its great but if you’re someone who needs all notifications coming through without having your phone. Love mine and can’t wait to see whatelse the come up with

It is capable of doing everything I needed to do, give me all the data I need, and see or limit any notifications I want. Hands-down worth every penny. You will not go wrong buying this watch!

Very Happy With My Fenix 8 Pro
on February 9, 2026

I’ve been really enjoying my Garmin Fenix 8 Pro. It looks great on the wrist and feels very solid. I use it for walks, runs, and bike rides, and it has been reliable for everything I do. The tracking has been accurate for my workouts and the battery lasts a long time, so I do not have to think about charging it often. It fits well into my daily routine and I like checking my stats after activities.
I originally wanted the 51mm version because of the bigger battery, but it was just too big on my wrist. The 47mm ended up being a better fit and it still has very good battery life, so I am okay with it.
One thing I would like to see improved is the operating system. I wish it felt more fluid and a bit simpler to use. Some settings and features are hidden inside menus and it can take a bit of time to find them without going back and forth. It would be nice if navigation felt more straightforward. Overall, I am still very happy with the watch and it has been great for my daily use and workouts.

I love this watch very much. I’m mad I bought the captain gen 2 first and spent much more. Has way less capability.
