Good, but doesn’t really support HDR
on August 13, 2025

Overall, the TV is good. The picture is sharp, the colors are vibrant, and content looks great in 4K.
However, this TV struggles with HDR content. Nearly all HDR sources look to dark. Watching content in SDR looks great. If you are looking for a TV that can play HDR content I would not buy this TV. If you were just looking for a good TV that has a clear picture and you don’t care about HDR content this TV will work fine.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Geoff,
We appreciate your feedback on the picture quality of Samsung’s Q7F TV. While your TV features Quantum HDR and HDR10+ support, there are several adjustments you can make to better suit your viewing environment and content type.
First, please ensure your TV is running the latest firmware, as updates may include important picture quality enhancements. Go to: Home > Left directional button > Settings > Support > Software Update > Update Now
To explore picture mode options, navigate to: Home > Left directional button > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Picture Mode. Options include: • Standard – Ideal for general viewing • Dynamic – Brighter and more vibrant for well-lit spaces • Eco – Optimized for energy efficiency • Movie – Best for viewing in low light • Filmmaker Mode – Preserves the content creator’s intent and disables motion smoothing for supported content
You can further customize your image by going to: Settings > All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings, where you can adjust Brightness, Contrast, Color Tone, Sharpness, Contrast Enhancer and more.
Additionally, if you're viewing content from an external source (cable box, streaming device, etc.) via HDMI, please also enable Input Signal Plus which expands the input signal range for HDMI connections and heightens your image: Home > left directional button > Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > External Device Manager > Input Signal Plus, then select the HDMI port your device is connected to.
If you’d like more help finding the best picture settings for your preferences, please don’t hesitate to contact Samsung Support at 1-800-SAMSUNG, available 8AM – 12AM EST, 7 days a week. You can also LiveChat with an agent or explore additional resources on our website by clicking the ‘Support’ link.

Great TV; Poor Remote

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We use our TV for family viewing. Picture and sound are very good. Only criticism is the small remote which comes with set that has buttons that are too small and poorly identified. I can't believe how Samsung cheapened out wih such a "difficult" remote control.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is one of the best gifts I've ever received. I stream, game, and watch all sports on my TV. It is even very easy for the family to just turn it on and enjoy whatever show or streaming platforms they want all in one place. Definitely a great buy!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This TV lacks standard audio input ports, do if you have a sound system with standard audio jack or even optical input, you will be in no luck.

PrecisePangolin, Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the available inputs for the Q7F. If an Optical port is a crucial part of your setup needs, you’ll find that connection starting with our Q8F Series and above. For future purchases, we recommend double-checking the product specs on Samsung's site to ensure the model you choose has the ports you need. You can find this by clicking on “Specs” (just beneath the Product Title), then "See All Specs" for the full list of available inputs and more: https://www.samsung.com/us/tvs/qled-tv/65-class-qled-tv-q7f-sku-qn65q7faafxza/
Should you ever need assistance with your TV, Samsung is here for you. Reach out by calling 1-800-SAMSUNG between 8AM - 12AM EST, any day of the week. You can also chat with us online by visiting the ‘Support’ section of our website. ~ Samsung Specialist

Disappointed
on October 14, 2025
Posted by: Have owned 5 Samsung TVs
IMO it is dull. I took 1 star off for the remote - fortunately I had an older Samsung remote with separate labeled buttons. I subtracted another star for lack of brightness. I have owned for almost a week and have explored and adjusted all settings. I just can't get it any brighter. I should have heeded a professional review that rated the TV as 5.9 out of 10 due to the number of NITS being low and a dim picture, especially in bright rooms. The 43" Crystal display is brighter and just as good of a picture. The QLED is not worth the extra $.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] True color and the remote is solar so no need to buy batteries. I have the TV next to my window, which gets sunlight directly, I don’t get any glare on fading of screen. Very happy with this TV.
