This thing is impressive. It’s as thin as they advertise. The magnetic grip is great. It’s durable and easy to use. I absolutely love this thing. Saw it advertised on instagram where most products are total crap. This thing is totally awesome.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I’m giving this Snap Grip 5 a solid 4 stars. I’ve not tried the previous version of this product. I’ve only ever used a cheap sticky pop sockets when they first came out years ago. I do like the sleek and slim nature of this product and the magnets are strong enough to hold the grip securely attached to my iPhone 17 Pro using an Apple TechWoven case. However, I am slightly disappointed in the grip’s comfort and ease of use that are most likely due to the slim design. The space to put your fingers underneath the grip isn’t particularly large and it takes some getting used to. I have regular-sized hands (Medium to Large gloves) with perhaps slightly thinner and longer fingers than usual and still, I sometimes struggle sliding my fingers underneath the grip. Especially if it’s been in the closed position for a while. I end up needing to use both hands. With one hand I pull the grip as high up as it goes, hold it there, and then slide the fingers of my other hand under. I feel like the grip could benefit from being able to pull slightly further out and most importantly, it would be helpful if releasing it from the socket would push it further out right from the get go. More spring tension when releasing it would help a lot. That would allow me to release the grip from the socket and slide my fingers underneath all one-handed. I supposed the slim design with thin, but so far surprisingly strong legs, prevents that. I can’t imagine how people with bulky fingers could ever use this grip comfortably. I absolutely love the fact that the phone can be wirelessly charged through the grip and also that I don’t have to remove the grip to attach the phone to magnetic stands/holders, even though it doesn’t hold quite as strong as if there were no grip. It also takes a big of getting used to in finding the right position for the phone to properly attach (snap into place) to a magnetic stand/holder as there is some magnetic push/pull happening depending on how centred the phone+grip is to the stand/holder.Overall, it’s a good grip with strong magnets that perhaps suffers from some limitations due to its slim and sleek design. I wouldn’t mind a slightly bulkier design if it meant the grip would spring slightly further out and perhaps, most importantly, on its own when released, enabling this to become a true one-handed grip.

I've had ohsnap! on my smart phones since the Snap Grip 1. This is by far the best iteration.

Mixed feelings about this

I have several good things to say, but also some bad. I’ve never been a fan of pop-sockets due to fit and function. Saw this one and thought it’d mark off a lot of my typical issues. I like how slim it is. Typical pop sockets are bulky; making handling, pocket sliding, placing face up or face down anywhere/anytime super annoying. Double sided magnetic feature is solid. Lets you stick your phone to any ferrous material; as long as the surface isn’t super smooth. Then the phone will slide. (Ref. iPhone 16 Pro for size/weight)Big selling point for me was the charge pass through. I didn’t like the idea of having to remove the device every time I wanted to charge wirelessly. One small issue with this however. When using a Quick Charge wireless charger (65W+), the phone/socket gets pretty toasty. This isn’t a huge issue as I only need to charge my phone at night when I go to bed and the phone isn’t doing anything, but may be an issue for those that charge/play simultaneously. The single finger interface is pretty narrow. I have pretty bulky hands due to years of manual labor as well as weightlifting. My finger barely fits; and I have to use my second hand to hold the hole open in order to get my beefy finger in the hole (giggaty). I’d reckon a typical hand/finger would fit just fine. At first glance, this thing looked pretty flimsy. I figured the panel would’ve ripped off nearly instantly. After a week of regular use however, it is much more durable than expected. No issues with durability thus far. All-in-all, I like it. Which is saying something considering my considerable aversion to pop-sockets typically. I have no use for the kick-stand feature, but it does indeed work; landscape orientation only obviously. The rotation feature is very functional and smooth, with the added benefit as acting as a fidget toy while holding my phone.

I received my snap grip and only have had it on my phone for two days and the top won’t stay down. I have to push it really hard to stay down, one of the little pieces that hold it up has already warped and won’t fit. They are going to warranty it but still I’m not super thrilled with a product that only last two days. I also don’t love how high up the grip is. It’s uncomfortable for my hand. The magnet part has also come off a couple times if you move your hand just the right way. It’s also not allowing wireless charging from my car charger.
