Not as strong or durable as previous models

I got the Snap Grip 5 and have noticed quite a few differences. It doesn’t charge as easily - I had to remove the grip to get my phone to charge properly, I didn’t need to do that with previous versions. It falls off if I drop my phone or gets left behind on the surface I’ve magnetized it to. I have the car mount and it isn’t as secure, a big bump and my phone is released from the magnet. I recommended this to friends because it was so great before but the new iterations seem not to be as stable and sturdy. Kinda sucks - because I really like the items. I hope it gets worked out for the better.

Weaker Magnet than Snap 4

Pro: detachability feature is great. Has almost everything I liked about the 4.Con: does not attach my phone securely to other objects. Seems it’s a weaker magnet system (?) than the 4. The 4 never fell off my car mount and would attach strongly to metal objects I wanted to mount my phone to. The 5 barely holds onto anything securely. Unfortunately the outer magnet and mounting ability was a critical feature for me so I’ll be returning this.

Finally! A slim magnetic grip that stays put!

I absolutely love this grip. I'm using it on an iPhone in an Otterbox case and it holds strong! I can use a magnetic mount in my car with it and my phone doesn't budge. I have yet to have the grip accidentally pop off the back of my phone and it's slim enough even with my phone case on to use a phone stand if I don't want to use the phone stand configuration of the Snap Grip 5. I am SO glad I decided to give this a try.

It's ok... but not for the iPhone 17 ProMax

I have been a faithful Ohsnap person for yearssss now... Got it for my new iPhone 17 Pro Max. It holds to my case well which is great, love the function - BUT it wont hold on ANYTHING. Every surface - gym, fridge, ohsnap desk mount, ohsnap car mount...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

WEAK MAGNET

I recently bought the Snap Grip 5 thinking it was adhesive-mounted. I later found out that it is removable, which is cool, but the trade-off is that it is slightly thicker and the magnet is weaker. The magnet is not strong enough to work with my car MagSafe mount, which a deal breaker. My case can attach to my car mount without any issues I still think OhSnap grip ring. It is by far the best on the market, being thin, lightweight, and extremely strong. What I liked about the Snap 4 was that I could mount it anywhere magnetically. With the Snap 5, I have less confidence.To the OhSnap team, please do not discontinue the Snap 4. It is great to have options, but it would be disappointing to ruin an already nearly perfect product.For now, I will be returning my Snap Grip 5 and will try to purchase a Snap Grip 4 from a third-party reseller.Thanks for reading.

I really like this product, very slim and I use it a lot. But only after 2 or 3 months whatever paint or finish on this silver color is starting to scratch and come off pretty badly.

I've used dozens of OhSnap products, LOVED Grip4 and recently received Grip5, as their description says, "major upgrade from OhSnap4". I am here to tell you NO, if there was a less than 1 star rating, I would give that! Sorry but I had no issue with Grip4, 5 stars, loved it, it charged through (except on Iphone Air). Otherwise, LOVED it... But Grip 5, HATE HATE HATE IT! Period, Full Stop! Is it slim, yes, does it charge through, yes... BUT every single MageSafe devise I "try" to attach, I fight with it for several minutes to attach to my MagSafe wallet, MagSafe charger and MagSafe car mount. The magnets fight with each other and if not attached securely, my phone drops to the floor. NO FUN!
