Love this grip! Even though it won’t charge 😩

I think this is the 4th Oh Snap! grip I’ve owned, and nothing seems to compare. They do seem to wear out after about 6-8 months, though each successive generation has improved longevity. The only downside I’ve discovered is it interferes with the contact charging for the older iPhones (mine is an 11). In the past I was able to get around this by attaching the grip lower. I was hoping this new version would work as you remove the grip for charging and leave the magnet, but it didn’t. However, once I broke down and purchased a MagSafe charger, it solved the problem.

A little torn

Android user here. I have a flip 5 and got a case with the mag back. Im not sure if the cases mag back sucks but the magnets didn't hold as strong as I would've liked. Instead of putting the accessory ring on the case i put it on the inside of the case to see if that would help, and it does. The main reason why I got a grip again (had one back in 2021) was because I remember how useful it was for gym use. just sticking it on the metal machines made it so convenient. This time around, it sticks, but maybe because of the type of phone I have it on it doesn't always stay in place. It tends to start sliding down slowly (it is what it is). Sometimes it stays, sometimes it slides. Lastly, perhaps its due to the mag back case... when removing it holders or metal surfaces the grip will stick to the metal and detach from the phone. My only work around it to slide it off which leads to the grip getting all scuffed up. I remember before with a previous grip and phone I would just grab and go! My only solution might be to use the accessory ring permanently adhered on with no phone case to get the true intended use. Android/flip phone problems lol

Some quirks but it also broke very fast

This is sad because I loved the first gen of ohsnap and this new one isn’t good at all. It stays stuck on other surfaces instead of on the phone when removing. Sometimes I’ll forget it on a gym machine. And the worst part, the magnet is broken already.

OK grip

It’s okay, a bit overpriced but still acceptable. I own a few MagSafe accessories, and not all of them charge through the grip. I have to remove it to make them work. This might be due to the thick case and the Snap Grip 5.At the gym, it sticks to the racks, but if the surface is smooth, it starts to slide down.I also used it with a wallet, and it doesn’t hold it as securely without the grip.

Old Model Is Much Better

Having used this product since its launch, I was very disappointed with this new version. The magnets do not seem nearly as strong. My phone (with Snap Grip 5) has fallen off my MagSafe chargers both at home and in my car. I have had several occasions where the phone did not charge through the device. For a product I have come to count on, I find it disappointing to now think I need to find an alternative that works.

White "Overexposed" turned light peach within 2 weeks; outside ring material chipping away
on November 30, 2025

The outside ring of the white (aka 'overexposed') grip has a rubberized feel and has discolored within 2 weeks of usage in jean and work slacks. Additionally, the outside material is chipping off after a month of usage exposing a silverfish metal looking under-layer. This new magnet-only version and functionality is great, but the discoloration makes this embarrassing to have on my phone.

Bring back the old design

I recently started using my new Snap Grip 4 after the elastic band on my old one finally snapped. This is my 3rd Snap Grip and I used to love them. Unfortunately, I wish they could just figure out how to make the old band stronger as I am very disappointed with the redesign. The adhesive isn't strong enough and my phone came off the mount crashing onto the floor after only the 2nd day. I had to use superglue to get it to stick. But my biggest complaint is that it is practically impossible to open the grip and use it with just 1 hand. It is also very easy to stick your finger through the wrong opening when trying to use 1-finger mode which is pretty painful. The grip spins so easily now that it doesn't stay where you left it when you last opened it, making it very easy not to realize that it's turned 90 degrees. Finally, the individual pieces of the "accordion" mechanism under the grip also flip inside out very easily making the grip impossible to close. I had finally found an almost-perfect grip, I'm sad I'll have to go back to the drawing board after this one :-(.
