Marginally better than the Snap 4 Luxe

The fact that the new Snap 5 doesn't use adhesive is a great improvement. But since it doesn't have a metal body means it doesn't stick as well to the Snap car mount and charger as well as the Snap 4 Luxe. If those 2 things were combined it would be perfect. Not worth the upgrade from the Snap 4 Luxe in my opinion.

The mangatism on the Snap Grip 5 is not very strong. It sticks fine to the phone case, but it pops off the phone chargers too easily.

I had bought a magsafe case for my Samsung phone. This fit on it great, is comfortable to hold and charges through it. I was NOT going to be removing anything to charge at night so that was very important.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great but with an exception

I personally own almost every Ohsnap product they have made over the years. I have started with one of the first versions of the grip and every version has gotten better besides this version. I’m not sure if it is a manufacturer defect that I received but the new grip 5 magnets are significantly worse compared to the other grips I have. The new grip magnets work great sticking to the MagSafe on the new iPhone 17 Pro Max but the exterior facing magnets are very weak. They do not even hold the phone to the Snap Stand, Snap Wall Mount, Snap Car Mount let alone any other magnetic metal surfaces. The slightest touch or bounce will cause the phone/grip to fall off the mount compared to the other Snap grips like the grip 4 and grip 3. I submit a warranty claim but I hope I just received a defective product and not all the new grip 5 are the problem. I had already ordered a second grip 5 for my wife before the first one came in. But if I had already known the issue I would have gotten the grip 4 instead as I have had no issues with that version and there is no wait for the product.

I’ve avoided grips for years cuz they just never worked that well for me, and I didn’t want to buy a dedicated case with an integrated grip.OhSnap 5 is the first time I’ve changed my mind, and I haven’t stopped recommending it to others since I got it. If you’ve been avoiding grips for similar reasons and don’t want something stuck onto your iPhone with adhesive, this may just be your solution! Give it a try!
