[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was lucky to receive the Hyperice Normatec Elite Hip right after my trail half marathon. While training I was averaging 20-30 miles a week with noticeable tightness as my training plan went on. For recovery, I was using contrast therapy, the roller, and Hyperice's Hypervolt.
Initial thought: Right after my race, I went home to test the device for the first time. I have used Hyperice's Normatec Leg set once before and really enjoyed it. The price is expensive so one could understand why I did not buy that device. I actually did two cycles because it felt so great. The first one to get acquainted with the feeling and pressure. The second to fully relax with a tighter fit. There are 7 levels of compression and I found myself switching between 3 and 4. I like the portability of the device - no cords, packable, light-ish. (Battery is the heaviest part). During the operation, it does make kind of a jarring noise. It is somewhat loud/noisy and my cat didn't like it.
The Morning After: Waking up, I was surprised to find that my hips, thighs, and glutes felt more fresh when compared to my calves. I went on a recovery bike ride and felt mostly great! I was still a little sore. I used the device in the 15 minute mode before and the 30 minute mode right after. It's so comfortable and easy to integrate into a morning activity.
Later in the Week: I continued to use this device throughout the following week to maximize recovery. I started to use it alongside the massage gun and contrast therapy. I don't find the lack of heat a minus, but with contrast therapy/using the sauna, I think it helps improve the benefits. The device is so comfortable, I think I used it on average 2 times a day mostly to test it to its fullest. This is a testament to how many cycles the battery has. It lasts long!
Two weeks later: I'm reminiscing about using these during my climbing sessions and bringing them on trips!
Final Thoughts: Hyperice's Normatec Elite Hip is a great addition to someone who knows recovery well and has a routine. If you're starting out with running or a sport that tests your hips, I would recommend stretching and a roller. Being mindful of the price, I think it great as a supplement to maximize recovery. It is super comfortable, straightforward to use and integrates seamlessly into everyday life. I like that I can still recover with minimal effort. Plus I get to drink my coffee and watch TV! My legs always feel great the next day and I know they will feel even greater in the future.

Helps my aching hips!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Normatec Elite Hip Elite offers my painful hips much needed relief after a long run. As someone who suffers from arthritis in both hips, my hips hurt all the time. My home gym looks like a PT office, as I have numerous gadgets to keep me healthy. My hips tend to stiffen up even more after a long run. The Elite Hip offers excellent compression where it's needed. I usually use it for about 15 minutes after I run, and I feel that it speeds along my recovery. The targeted compression helps improve circulation, and I feel like my hips move better after using the Elite Hip. I love that I can use it on its own without a large control box and cords. It's easy to adjust and use. I'm a big fan of compression to help prevent, reduce and heal certain injuries. I feel that using the Elite Hip on a regular basis will keep me moving and help me achieve my marathon and ultramarathon goals. I would recommend this to anyone who has hip pain, especially runners. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Disclosure: I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.
Unboxing & First Impressions: Hyperice nails the premium experience-the packaging is clean, compact, and travel-friendly. The device was about 75% charged out of the box, which is great for immediate use. The size surprised me (smaller than expected), and the cord-free design makes it far more portable than traditional compression systems.
Fit & Setup: The Elite Hip fits like a pair of hockey breezers-loose at first until you tighten the thigh straps and clip the buckles. Once powered on, the compression zones engage and the fit feels secure and balanced. The adjustable straps make it easy to dial in comfort.
Performance & Feel: I primarily used the device post-run and post-strength sessions, including after my goal fall race. The compression is impressive-especially across the quads, hips, and glutes. The overlapping zones eliminate gaps, so you get consistent pressure from your quads through your lower back. Each cycle feels like a dynamic flush, promoting blood flow and reducing soreness. It genuinely mimics the benefits of a massage or rolling session without the effort. Battery life is solid-I averaged 7-10 cycles per charge, and the quick recharge keeps downtime minimal.
Impact on Recovery: This device made a noticeable difference in my recovery. After high-mileage weeks and my race, my usual trouble spots-tight hips, IT band irritation, and glute trigger points-felt significantly better. I believe the targeted compression helped improve circulation and restore hip mobility faster than my typical foam rolling and manual tools.
Heat vs. Compression: The Elite Hip doesn't include heat, but honestly, the compression alone delivers excellent results. I didn't feel like heat was missing for recovery purposes.
Who Should Use This: I'd recommend this to endurance athletes, runners, and anyone with hip or glute tightness who values recovery and convenience. It's also great for athletes who travel, thanks to its compact, cord-free design.
Room for Improvement: The fit is good once the product is engaged and working, but initial setup could mention something for first-time users worried about it being 'baggy' before using it. A quick-start video or QR code in the box would help.
Final Thoughts As a runner averaging 50 miles per week, plus strength and cycling sessions, recovery is critical for my performance. I've used many tools-Theragun, Therabody Jet Boots, foam rollers, lacrosse balls - but the Normatec Elite Hip stands out for its portability, ease of use, and targeted compression. It's a game-changer for hip and glute recovery.

This product is amazing. It covers most of my quads and keeps them fresh. But it also helps keep my lower back muscles loose. I'm started using this to help recover from back surgery and to get and keep moving. I had had a very hard time keeping my nervous system from tightening my legs up. This helps me feel normal again. A true game changer!!

Incredibly portable I use these daily at home and on the go and really appreciate that I can take these anywhere very easily. They offer the same fantastic compression as the original normatec pump design and the battery lasts far longer than I was expecting. Fantastic product that helps relieve some of my hip and lower back pain alongside a consistent stretching routine.
