It is heavy, the water bottle sleeves are so high that it is hard to access the bottle/contents. I wish you made a light weight daypack with a good waterbottle sleeve and a few pockets and call it a day. You used to make them but stopped. I hike regularly but only for a couple hours and want a pack to be lightweight and with good basic storage, I am not alone.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've used High Sierra bags for a long time. They never disappoint. This one is no exception. I bought this one for my ten year old and he loves the design. It's perfect for school and he finds it very comfortable. Two spots for water bottles and a secure compartment for electronic devices, what's not to like.
