[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] doesn't wash very well - "agitator" is useless since it doesn't fill far enough to even reach it - it's the noisiest machine i've ever heard running in my life - feels "cheap", and i am not the least bit happy with it. i realize top-loaders take more water than front-loaders, but this thing is ridiculous. even on the "heavy-duty" cycle and with the water level at "max", it won't wash a TWIN comforter, and it's not even heavy. if i had known what i was getting into with this machine, i never would have bought it. i'm stuck with this - THING now so i'll just have to KICK myself every time i turn it on and remember "whirlpool" is NOT "whirlpool" anymore.

Hello,
We value your time and would like to look into the concerns with your Washer.
If clothes aren't cleaning properly, check these common factors for optimal wash performance:
Water Temperature: Select the correct temperature for the fabric and soil.
Detergent: Use only the correct type and amount of HE (High-Efficiency) detergent.
Additives: Measure fabric softener and bleach precisely and use at the correct time.
Cycle Selection: Choose the appropriate cycle for the load.
Loading: Avoid overloading and sort laundry by color.
Washer Maintenance: Run a routine Clean Washer cycle.
Cycle and Settings
Washing cycles optimize agitation/tumbling speed, spin speed, and water temperature.
Temperature: Select based on fabric and soil, adhering to labels. Modern HE warm/hot settings may be cooler. A small amount of warm water is added to "Cold" wash for detergent activation.
Soil Level: Adjusts wash time (agitation duration). Use Extra Heavy or Extra Power for heavily soiled items and Light for lightly soiled clothes to minimize wrinkling.
Spin Speed: Faster speeds reduce drying time but increase wrinkling. Slower speeds reduce wrinkling but require longer drying. Consult the Cycle Guide for details.
Detergent
Use only HE detergent. It binds to soil and softens water.
Dosage: Always measure according to the manufacturer's directions based on soil and load size. Use less for soft water.
Overuse: Excessive or non-HE detergent creates suds that hinder cleaning, reduce spin speed, and can cause error codes.
Concentrations: Follow the manufacturer's dosage chart for 2x, 4x, or 8x concentrations. Use larger detergent packs only for exceptionally large or heavily soiled loads. Whirlpool recommends Swash® detergent.
Loading and Sorting
Clothes need free movement for effective soil removal.
Load Size: Reduce load size if items are densely packed. Load items in loose, evenly distributed heaps.
Sorting: Separate dark colors from lights and whites to prevent dye transfer, which can make lighter clothes appear dingy.
Maintenance
Run the Clean Washer cycle about once per month with an appliance cleaner (e.g., affresh®). This cycle re-calibrates the water levels to factory settings and removes detergent/softener residue that can affect performance.

Regret buying

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This washer doesn’t have a fabric softener dispenser. I figured it’d be ok since I can add during rinse. BIG PROBLEM! No rinse indicator light!! In all my years I’ve never run across this. My fault because I assumed there would be a dispenser and a rinse indicator. I was in a hurry to buy. And the noise is deafening! This will probably be my last washer. Wish it had been the best one.

Loud water valve

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The washer is not expensive. I understand the need for creative price points. However the noise while this fills with water is too loud. It sounds like a water softener during regeneration. If you have it in a basement, it’s reasonable to get thru the day. But if you have first floor laundry, it will drown out your house.
All the other features are great, but also a moot point if it’s too loud to have in your home. I don’t understand why it has to be this way?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this washing machine to replace my old Whitpool WTW5000DW1. We liked the large tub,but missed the tall agitator. We were so happy to now have the 2 options. However we are less than pleased about the high decibel noise level

Hello,
We value your time and would like to look into the concerns with your Washer.
A loud banging or thumping noise during wash or spin cycles often signals a problem with installation, load balance, or component security.
Possible Solutions:
Secure Hoses: Unsecured drain or inlet hoses can strike the washer cabinet during motion. Inspect the back, and use the provided beaded strap or a durable wire tie to firmly anchor hoses away from the cabinet, especially during the high-speed spin cycle.
Balance Load: An unbalanced load is a common cause of violent thumping. Load clothes in loose heaps, distributed evenly. Mix heavy items (like blankets) with lighter ones; avoid washing a single heavy item alone. If thumping occurs, pause and manually redistribute the load. Modern washers have sensors and will automatically add water and agitate to correct the balance; allow this correction process to complete without interruption.
Level Washer: The machine must be perfectly level and all four leveling feet must be firmly planted.
Check: Push down diagonally; if the washer rocks, it is not level. Use a spirit level to verify true levelness (side-to-side and front-to-back).
Adjust: Turn the leveling legs in or out. If using a drain pan, adjust legs further out to ensure they sit flat on the bottom surface.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have only owned this a month and I already wish I hadn’t bought it. Twice so far I’ve done a load of laundry and at the end of the cycle the clothes were either not washed or had to be washed again.

Great machine but loud!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love everything about this machine except it’s really loud. Especially during filling and spin cycles. It cleans clothes well but I can’t believe how loud it is, My last Whirlpool machine was very quiet so I’m surprised. I wish there’s a way to quiet it down since we live in an apartment and I’m worried my neighbors are going to complain lol but otherwise I’m happy with my purchase, great value.
I would recommend this to a friend!
