Love the coffee, when the machine works.

I was given this model for Christmas 2020, and it would no longer work by December 2021. It is used once a day, gently... it was connected to my phone, and I followed the instructions on cleaning and decanting. Still not working. I wasted many pods attempting to get this to work. Finally called Nespresso and it was replaced with the same model. Thank you! BUT one month in, that one stops working too. Wasted more coffee pods attempting to get it to work, but it just wouldn't. Called Nespresso again and just received another replacement, but a different model. Don't waste your money on this model.Customer service is always amazing though!!

Do not purchase this machine

This thing is great when it works...but it works less than 50% of the time. Then you eject a perfectly good pod into the waste basket. White, solid light shows up, hit the button, and then....nothing. It's incredibly frustrating. You can unplug it for a bit then plug it back in and it will work for a cup or two. But then the same thing happens. Such a shame because it's really good when it works.

2 leaking machines in less than 30 days

3 days after purchasing the Vertuo Next, it began leaking a substantial amount of water from the top of the machine. We returned it to the department store where it was purchased and received a replacement machine in the same model/color. The new machine performed well for 8 days before it began leaking from the top as well. We've been using our old Keurig until we're able to speak with Nespresso customer service for another replacement machine. We're going to give Nespresso one more chance before walking away from the brand. The coffee quality is incredible but our overall experience with the Vertuo Next has been a big disappointment so far.

We recommend running a priming cycle weekly through your machine to assist with keeping the taste, texture, body and aroma in each brew. We also recommend descaling your machine every three months or 300 capsules, whichever comes first. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE

I rarely use this machine, typically for guests, but after about 10 cups, it starts a blinking orange light and stops working. I have probably spent a total of 3 hours on the phone troubleshooting. They replaced the first machine only to have the same issue happen again. I can only surmise that it's the machine, and my only option at this point is to get another fault machine that is no longer under warranty (yes, even though they replaced my first under warranty, the replacement machine evidently is under the same warranty - which has expired). Just don't buy this machine. If you purchase one, go for the original models, the Vertuo series clearly has design flaws.

Unreliable

Well, I'm on my 3rd machine now. The first one stopped reading capsules and was blinking yellow light with "unrecognized capsule" error, although I only buy native capsules form Nespresso site and do maintenance and de-scaling regularly. Wasted 5 capsules trying different workarounds. Did factory reset and it fixed a problem for few days and then problem came back again this time for good and factory reset no longer fixed the issue. I contacted Nespresso and after 1 hour on the call and troubleshooting they sent me a new machine, which arrived broken. There was unnatural rattling sound while brewing (like something was loose inside) and it was more loud then usual. Called Nespresso again and was sent another replacement, which so far works fine, but my warranty expired (they don't extend warranty for replacements) , if this one breaks I'm afraid I will have to discard it. Very unreliable machine.

3rd replacement is now breaking

Super super disappointed with this machine. I have had 3 different replacement machines sent to me in the past 6 months. I would like to give nespresso credit for good service, but they really just need to pull this machine off the market and figure out the problem. We spend large amounts of money on their coffee monthly, and a non-working machine this morning didn’t start my day out well at all.

Would NOT Recommend

I received this machine as a gift 8 months ago and have had on and off issues ever since. The machine leaks liquid underneath the used capsule holder, I’m constantly fighting with it to get rid of orange flashing lights, and the most recent issue is causing the machine to not even brew coffee. After much research trying to solve my machine’s issues, I’ve come to realize that so many people have problems with the Vertuo Next line. It’s to the point where customer service just replaces machines on the regular because they know it’s faulty. I’ve seen several instances where people have had their Next machines replaced 2 or more times. Nespresso needs to recognize there is an issue in design with the Next machines and stop making this headache of a coffee maker.
