Vertuo Next vs Vertuo Original

The Vertuo Next is a step backwards. Would give it a 1 but the coffee still tastes great. From the beginning the machine asks to descale so often, it is simply not worth the time and effort. If you unplug it, you have to descale before you can make another cup. It has taken the enjoyment out of using the machine. This is a design flaw for certain. I have both the new Next and the older Vertuo original and the Orignal simply blows the Next away. Spend more money and go for quality. This is a real shame for the Next series as Nespresso coffee is better than every other pod coffee, period. Wish I could return the Next or replace it.

This machine has serious issues

First off, when the machine works it brews great and delicious coffee. Unfortunately, the design and the build of this machine have serious flaws. I have had THREE machines in less than 15 months and all of them broke down and do not work anymore. After just a few weeks my first machine stopped working and I got a new one under warranty. The 2nd machine had serious issues and couldn't read any pods and it got replaced once again. The 3rd machine was working just fine for a few months until it broke down like the first 2 machines. It's a shame because when it works like it's supposed to be, the experience it's amazing, great-tasting coffee with just a click of a button. But I would not recommend it. Despite intense maintenance, it will stop working after just a few cups.

Machine didn't last a year, & was special edition

Machine purchased June of 2021, replaced on March 18th for overflow. Unfortunately this was a very rare special order machine that they replaced with another limited edition but didn't offer any other incentives. Very good experience with Tech Support (including a live video engagement for support), replacement was no questions asked, but really disappointed that I have to get a new machine in less than a year, much less this was a significant gift.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Like many others have pointed out, this machine works great - when it works. My first machine broke after 3 weeks. Water began leaking out the bottom and sides, and eventually stopped working altogether. The replacement machine began leaking out the bottom and sides after 5 weeks, and stopped working just like the first one.
Hopefully my third machine (a Vertuo Plus) will actually work properly.

When this machine works, it’s great. But more often than not, it simply doesn’t work. My first one broke after less than a year, and thankfully Nespresso sent a replacement machine. Then 2 months into the replacement, that broke too. It randomly started leaking water everywhere and it wouldn’t even let me do a factory reset. So now I’m on to a third machine. I’m switching models because the Vertuo Next is just not reliable. Not sure what went wrong when Nespresso was creating this specific model, but don’t even bother with it.

Bad

I had 2 machines that both stopped working in under a year of having them. Now they require a video call to troubleshoot and I don’t have access to do that. I would not recommend anyone buy this.

Don't waste your money

My children bought me the Vertuo Next as a Christmas present. It worked a few times but the coffee was never hot. It would not ever connect to my Wifi and now the machine doesnt work at all. So disappointed that I threw away the box.

Same issues as many others

Just like the other reviews. It was great for 3-4 months of mild use and then it started leaking. Nespresso is sending out a replacement but it seems like they only last 3-4 months before they go bad. Warranty doesn’t reset so in one year it’s going to break again and then I’ll have to buy another one because it won’t be covered.
