I LOVE this new mini oven. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because the toast function is a little slow. It takes a bit longer to make toast than a regular toaster. If I had toast every day, it might impact my decision. But the unit is so fantastic for the rest of it's uses that I can overlook the slow toasting. Today I got mini quiches for breakfast at a cafe. I wanted to warm them up. Warming pastry in a microwave is just gross, so I would have had to heat up my regular oven to put two tiny quiches in to warm. The HEAT function on the BREVILLE had them warmed in minutes, way before my full size oven would have even come up to temp.
I would recommend this to a friend!

So many functions!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like that this oven has so many functions. It almost completely eliminates the need for multiple small appliances taking up space on my countertop.
The oven is large and heavy and the design looks really nice and sleek. The included accessories are well made and easy to clean. I don't put them in the dishwasher, I just wash them with very hot water and they clean up nicely. I would have been over the moon happy if this oven had a self cleaning mode.
The LED display is bright and easy to read. The power cord is heavy duty and has a ring attached to make it easier to unplug it. The cord did get warm after using it for a while, but not alarmingly so.
This oven gets very,very hot on the outside, but it does not heat up the kitchen like my regular stove does. The handle to open it runs the entire length of the cooking space and it does stay somewhat cool to the touch.
I have found that using several of the modes, like toast, bagel, air fryer, does take more time than usual, but that's okay with me since I don't have to run multiple appliances.
For me, this oven took a bit of getting used to. It was hit or miss a few times with temperatures, but if you keep an eye on it, it's easy enough to get the timing and temperatures right.
The oven is big enough for many meals, but I would have preferred a larger width for some of my wider baking dishes. I really like that when you open the oven door it has an auto eject where the rack comes partially out automatically. Just be sure to open the door slowly if you care cooking anything with excess liquid.
I love how quickly the oven heats up. It takes no time at all and when you set the time and temperature, the countdown does not begin until it is preheated. I really like that.
The reheat and warm options get leftover food hot without drying it out. The only function I am not a fan of is the slow cooker mode. I have found I have better results using my actual slow cooker.
Although this will not make me stop using my regular oven, it has so many different settings that I can cut down on turning it on and this oven will be great during the holidays for extra cooking space.

Don’t get the painted version. Paint blisters and peels

I’m a bit conflicted about how many stars to give this oven. I really like it and use it daily. There are only two of us and it’s perfect for making small meals. I rarely turn on my full size range. I also love the versatility of it: air frying, baking, toasting…. It does it all. However, I got the black version and there’s an issue with the paint. Heat escaping from around the door is causing the paint to blister and flake off. I wish I’d purchased the stainless steel version
Constant electrical noise when plugged in and in sleep mode. Drove us crazy. Returned it and got another one. Same thing. Returned that as well

Paint is chipping. Don’t buy color finished units.

Purchased a black stainless steel air fryer oven about one year ago. Third Breville oven. Was excited to use. The past few months the paint finish has started to chip away near the door edges. Not pretty. First time not buying a stainless steel unit. Will not buy a color finished unit ever again.

Believe all the other review regarding the high pitched whine when the machine is OFF. Breville CS replaced my unit and the next one had the SAME PROBLEM! Obviously this is a known issue but they continue to sell the product. As far as the actual oven- it works great and I would rebuy IF they actually fix the problem!

High pitched noise

The oven emits a high pitched noise while not in operation. I replaced the unit once. The second oven was even louder. I will be returning the replacement unit for a refund.

After multiple defective units, we had to ask for a refund. First new one stopped keeping temp well, got repaired and sent which arrived home dented. New one was sent in it place and it made a continuous high pitch sound which would stop only if we unplugged it. 2 replacements for this had the same issue. So this oven can work well but lot of trouble shooting is needed. I hope you are able to fix it. Because it really tainted the breville name for us.
