Make sure it stays on!

Purchased the white Smart Oven shortly after it was released. Unfortunately it is no longer white, the paint bubbled off after cleaning. The tray warped after the first time the air fryer was used. And the latest issue: after pressing the on button, the oven briefly starts and goes off. I need to wait for a few minutes to see if it continues to stay on or go off. Very unreliable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great versatile oven!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is such a great oven, all around ! I love the design and fits so well on our countertop. I was excited to use it and we’ve been using it every day since we got it. This toaster oven does just about everything. From toast and bake to air fry and slow cook. Looks great, works great, and comes with a good assortment of racks and pans. Very easy to use. All functions/options are listed on the screen and when you select one, the screen lights up white. You pick your temperature and cooking time, press the start button and you’re ready to go. The screen turn orange and after is done preheating it makes a beep. Also beeps at the end when the time is up. We toast bagels and/or waffles every day. I love that I just select how toasted I want them and they come out perfect. When you open the door, the tray starts rolling out. Plenty of instructions and the markings on the door tell you where and which trays to place for the different options of cooking. We couldn’t be happier with this toaster oven. Such a smart tool to have in your kitchen. Amazing quality!

Much easier than the regular oven for most of my cooking.

This is my primary oven now. The temperate is extremely accurate, and it's so much easier to use if I don't need 4+ servings. I can do 90% of what I need in this, and the air frier changed a lot. If I have any critique is that's the door is always dying to snap shut, so if it isn't lying perfectly flat on the counter when you open it, you'll have a hot door snap up onto your arms as you pull food out of the oven.

Basic design flaw

You can not physically fit the baking pan under the basket when it is in the air-fry position. The result is that foods drip onto the elements and the crumb pan making a smoking mess. This could have been avoided had they made the pan wide enough to fit in the side rails.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. For the BOV860, the manual does instruct that when frying fatty foods, we recommend using the broiling rack placed in the roasting pan, instead of the air fry basket, to prevent oil dripping. You'll just want to make sure to discard excess oil in between batches.

Constantly emits a persistent, faint, high pitched noise even when not in use :-(

Several other reviews referred to this issue. I was hoping that the company had read those reviews and made the needed changes since then. I was wrong :-(

We have several Breville products and love them all! This is our 3rd oven; not because each one broke, but rather we upgraded to more features. We like having several different features in one appliance instead of purchasing a bunch of separate appliances. This is our first "exposure" to air frying and we love it! The only reason I'm giving only 4 Stars is because of the difficulty cleaning these ovens. I wipe them out after each use, leave the door open to air out and even place a small bowl of vinegar inside to absorb the smell. None of it helps much. It would be great if Breville could come up with easier to clean surfaces or even a self-cleaning feature. I would be willing to pay more for such an oven.

Breville used to be a quality brand you could trust

I have had the Smart oven for a year and after 3 months it stopped toasting on both sides and now the air fryer function does not work. Now everything is mushy instead of crispy. Impossible to clean the inside of the oven. Everything just "cakes & bakes" on the bottom and side of the oven.

Very convenient multifunctions oven. I bake a cake, air fried French fries and cooked a chicken the first week. And I also used the toast function to re-heat eggs Benedicts. It even made the bread crispy. Very happy with the purchase.
