Delivering amazing coffee for beginners and expert

The DeLonghi La Specialista Touch Espresso Machine with Cold Brew and Automatic Frothing is perfect for those who are looking for coffee brewing guidance with endless customization options. If you’re just getting into brewing your own espresso at home, this machine will offer you guidance throughout the drink making process from grinding your beans to adding finishing touches like latte art. For those with more experience, the machine allows customization through the drink making process and even allows you to create and save your own drink. This machine also comes with all the tools and accessories necessary to ensure you get the perfect drink.
It offers an easy to use Beanadapt technology that essentially allows any novice to quickly find the best grind setting for your specific coffee. When using it, it quickly determined that the initial grind I picked was not good and it found the correct grind setting. Being new to an espresso machine this feature was super helpful and honestly I’m not sure I would have had the patience to figure out the grind size myself. You are also able to save your coffee bean type for future use.
When selecting your drink choice there are several well known drinks like espresso, cold brew, cappuccino, americano, latte, flat white, long black, etc. You can also make hot water or hot milk. Each drink allows you to choose your sizing options. The machine is easy to use and provided the confidence needed for someone who is new to making their espresso at home. The espresso, cold brew, cappuccino, and latte macchiato were all delicious, full of flavor, and are preferable to those that are purchased from a coffee shop. Depending on your familiarity of traditional espresso based drink sizes, it may take some getting used to. The sizes are more reminiscent of European servings, which enhances the quality of the drink as compared to the sometimes overly large sizes at some American coffee shops.
The milk frother adds even more customization options. There are five options with four temperature settings. You’re even able to easily create latte art at home! The milk frother is able to work with cows milk or non-dairy alternatives. One of the reasonable drinks I have made are so delicious is due to the milk frother. It elevates the drink beyond a simple drink made from home.
The machine fits easily on the kitchen counter and underneath overhead cabinets if that is what your space allows. However, for ease of use of the machine it would be best situated on a counter without overhead cabinets. This will allow for easier access to the accessory holder if needed, and more seamless changing of the water tank. The water tank itself is very easy to remove and refill, however. It holds a lot of water, but depending on the drink you want to make, you may need to refill it immediately prior to use.
Additionally, the drip tray is easy to remove and clean after use for any liquid that doesn’t make it into a cup.
The only issue with the machine thus far is that the portafiler can be finicky and hard to attach to the group head. A lot of effort is required to lock it into place, but it does go in.
Overall, if you’re looking to make your own delicious espresso based drinks at home, this machine is highly recommended. Not only does it provide you with guidance and support to ensure you get the best drink possible, but you can customize and create your own settings for your tastes. The machine and its parts and tools are sturdy, easy to use and clean which will likely mean the machine will withstand lots of use. It’s well worth the value.

Look at that crema!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best option for someone who wants to be more hands on with their coffee/espresso beverages, but is unfamiliar with technique. This machine really helps you learn how to adjust your coffee to what tastes best to you. You're able to preset brewing options for certain beans and select between different types of beverages. The frother even can be operated either automatically or manually. It's design meets convenience meets quality meets education. I cannot recommend enough for your coffee needs.

Love the simple instructions and customization

My friend has better experience, and she loved how easy it was to extract the flavor with the bean adapter. She was able even to do a decent little art with the steamed milk! Excited to use it more and explore

Create coffee shop worthy drinks at home with ease

My husband and I are big coffee drinkers, but we also love going out to get an espresso drink. The thought of making them at home seemed very complicated and overwhelming, but this machine makes creating your favorite coffee shop level worthy beverages at home simple!
The set up took the longest as there a quite a few steps to get your machine brew ready. Although the set up took us about a half hour, the printed instructions along with the on screen prompts made it very easy to understand.
We are particularly thankful for the built in touch screen that allows you to select your favorite beverage and customize your preferred settings including milk frothing. The touch machine has several built in beverage options including cold brew, so all the hard work is done for you! You only have to select your preferred beverage and the machine does all the rest! As someone who loves a latte, the thought of knowing exact measurements for milk and espresso overwhelmed me, but DeLonghi did everything for me!
Everything is customizable (if you choose), from the bean quality, to temperature and milk froth consistency.
I will say there are quite a few parts to clean, but the instructions make understanding the cleaning needs of the machine easy.
It is truly an all in one machine, user friendly, and provides a great experience for creating your own espresso beverages at home. 10/10 recommend.

Guided brewing makes it almost foolproof

The step by step guidance makes it easy to get a perfect espresso every time, even if you’re new to it. It doesn’t make much noise while brewing. I also like that I am able to now get cold brew in just a few minutes. With the brewing process I’ve been able to get smooth and refreshing taste for each drink I’ve tried. Having this at home is super convenient. Highly recommend for anyone who wants cafe quality drinks without the guesswork! I was incentivized for my review.
