Great upgrade

It's not a huge step up from the original MX Master 3s, but would recommend just to avoid the rubber grip on the 3s, which wears down and collects grime very easily. Re-located buttons feel as comfortable as the 3s. Dedicated action ring pairs well with haptics and provides good support with Adobe suite apps such as Lightroom.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Better than previous version

It's much better than previous version, Finally the useless big button under the thumb finger removed! I've never used it in any last 3 versions. Also I like the new silent clicking

Change to shape makes it less effective

I liked the new material and the quieter switches. But the larger, more angular shape makes my thumb grasp the mouse differently. I kept activating the thumb switch and action ring when editing photos. Even when the sensitivity is reduced. For normal mousing - it was fine. But for my primary use, frustrating
Moral of the story - it depends on your hand and typical movements
