Perfect Daily Kettle

This Breville kettle is everything I was looking for. Boils quickly and hot, well made, good capacity, not too light or heavy and there’s a nice bell that rings when it’s boiled. A nice alternative to the mechanical beeps of other kettles.
Fairly sold on Breville quality at this point.

Poor Quality - lasts about 2 years if you're lucky

I have purchased two of these over the past 4 years - they look good, but the quality is not good.
Both kettles got major cracks in the plastic lens on the top of the kettle.
Both kettles had problems with the connection to the base - there is a tiny metal spindle that goes into a hole in the base. When placing a heavy kettle onto the base, sometimes this spindle will be knocked. Over time it gets pushed out of place and will not make contact. You will see other reviewers saying that they have to turn the kettle on its base to get it to work - this is why.
For me, the first kettle had to be turned to get it to operate.
For the second kettle, the off centre spindle meant that it stuck to the base, so when you lifted the kettle, the base came along with it - not safe at all.
The kettle looks great - the quality is not.
