A brand that you can count on

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had Kitchen Aid dishwashers that lasted 20 years, and my last one only lasted 8 years so I was greatly disappointed in it. After my research, I decided to go with another Kitchen Aid. This is a very nice machine. I love the very top rack for my small serving dishes and every thing Is coming out very clean and dry, no spots! If there are cups in the bottom rack, expect the tops to have a small amount of water on them, but all else is dry. This machine is quite a bit noisier than my last one but not too annoying. I love that the door opens by itself after the cycle is completed, it helps everything dry up nicely. So far, I am very happy with my new Kitchen Aid Dishwasher.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not as expected

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a replacement of a 5 year old, discontinued model on which the door hinge failed and could not be repaired. It has similar functions. The third rack takes up a lot of vertical space, and doesn't really add much function. The middle rack has different spacing and holds about 20% less glasses and cups than previous model. Also, only the left rack tilts the glasses so they dry. Having to be lower than before, the bottom rack space is restricted and no longer accepts our serving platter. On the positive side, this unit still gets everything clean and mostly dry. I would not recommend because it is the noisiest dishwasher we've ever had! The previous unit was so quiet you had to stand next to it to be sure it had turned on. This unit can be heard through both levels of our house. Very annoying. With the noise and reduced capacity, it is no better than any common brand dishwasher. No longer the premium equipment Kitchen Aid was 5 years ago.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We have owned the dishwasher for 6 days and it sounds like an air conditioning unit running in the kitchen. The retailer wont take it back and Kitchen Aid can't service for 3 weeks. Shouldn't the product work day1? I tried to upload a video of the unit in action, but site will only accepts youtube.
