It's extremely quiet, and the controls are operator friendly and the clean design works well. Good job with this dishwasher kitchenaid

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have only run it twice and am amazed at how long it runs. I had another kitchenaid for 20 years, hence my loyalty. But I liked the racks in my previous better. I also wish I had a user manual other than what is online.

Great except for top rack for eating utensils

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a solid dishwasher that cleans just fine and isn't particularly noisy, nothing really to complain about. I'd give it 5 stars except for the top rack for utensils which isn't designed very well. First, it's often awkward to load the utensils to where they'll stay in place once the unit starts cleaning. Too many utensils move around and don't stay put during the cleaning cycle. Second, the top rack has its loading orientation front to back instead of sideways like many other dishwashers. That means that when you pull out the top rack to load items and then slide it back in, utensils tend to slide out of place forward or back with each movement of the sliding rack. If that top rack's loading scheme were oriented sideways like the top racks of other manufacturers (Bosch is one example), the utensils would stay in place a lot better when the sliding rack is pulled out or pushed in. KitchenAid needs to redesign the top rack and orient the loading scheme sideways so utensils are loaded perpendicular to the way the rack moves.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced my 20 year old Kitchenaid with this one and not a fan of the racks. I liked the older design better. Too much space in between dividers. It is quiet. I wish I had a hard copy of the instructions.
