Piece of Junk

We built a new Dreamfinders home in Palm Coast Fl which came with Whirlpool appliances. Waht a mistake. The dishwasher is an abysmal piece of junk. Nothing holds the door. As soona s you crack it it falls wide open and the bottom main dish tray then rolls out spilling dishes all over the floor. Brand New. As to Customer support - Foreget it. Someplace in Tennesee. You can call, and if you have the patience to wait 3 days on hold, someone might answer. And then they are clueless.

The installation process was straightforward thanks to the clear instructions provided in the manual. I was able to follow along without issues. However, for those who are not technically inclined, I highly recommend hiring a technician. They can ensure that both the water and electrical connections are handled safely.

I tested multiple modes—including Sensor, Normal, and Quick Wash—under different load conditions (dishes, utensils, and pots). In every case, the results were impressive. The dishwasher consistently delivered clean, warm, and spotless dishes, regardless of the load size.

One of the standout features of this model is its quiet operation. I measured the sound level in a controlled, quiet environment, and it consistently averaged around 50 dB—about the same as a quiet room. This makes it much quieter than many other dishwashers and barely noticeable during operation.

Additionally, the troubleshooting section—especially for error codes—could benefit from more detailed explanations.

When I tested the Quick Wash cycle, after about 8 minutes the dishwasher detected the issue and triggered an F9E1 error code (“Dishwasher Will Not Drain”). Impressively, it stopped operation to prevent damage and water leakage. Although some water remained inside the tub, the unit’s sealed design prevented any leaks outside. This gave me confidence in its safe and reliable performance.

The Sani Rinse option was one of the main reasons I chose this model, as I place high importance on reducing bacteria. I didn’t research this feature extensively across other brands, but seeing it available on this model strongly influenced my decision to purchase. While it does extend the cycle time, the results are excellent and provide an added sense of safety and peace of mind.

It’s difficult for me to fully evaluate the energy efficiency at this point. There isn’t a practical way to measure it directly, so I’ll have to wait until I see my utility bill over time to determine the actual impact.

Very good and clever machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Whirlpool dishwasher has settled into the kitchen well. It is sleek looking and blends into the aesthetic we have. It operates quietly and efficiently.
My favorite feature is the third rack. The mug and cup jets do a great job, and it seems that it allows for more items to fit into the machine so it can be run less often. I’m still learning how to best use the rack adjustment on the second tier. It appears that it can be tilted to allow for bowls of different widths.
The settings are straightforward. I would like to have had a short rinse cycle option. The settings that are provided are easy to change and conveniently located.
The machine appears to be well built and is a nice addition to the kitchen.

It's so much better. It's quieter and faster. The racks roll in and out with ease. It has a simpler design that doesn't have a million settings that aren't needed. I especially love the way the door pops open when finished.

The layout of the dish wracks is well thought out and not a bit of wasted space, yet large enough to handle your largest dish washing needs. I highly recommend this unit. We went with the black stainless option and it looks really nice.
