Mostly works.

The bottom two racks clean nicely. The left side of the 3rd rack cleans short items such as mugs, but glasses more than 5 inches long don't always get clean. The right side of the 3rd rack gets things wet, but a spoon with cookie dough on it that would come clean in 5 to 10 seconds running under hot water in the sink still has cookie dough after 2 hours in the dishwasher. Also, when the circulation pump is running (most of the time) the dishwasher is a bit loud at about 47 to 48db (at 3 feet) and makes an annoying high pitched wine (about 3kHz to 4kHz). I purchased this over a Bosch 500 as the features are usable without a phone app, but perhaps the app would have been worth the trouble.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We’ve had this dishwasher for only 1.5 weeks, but the first load came out beautifully. In fact, our very old silverware looks like it’s brand new! It holds more than our previous dishwasher and I like the third rack. I can put tea mugs up there (at quite a steep angle) and they come out sparkling. We’ve tried both the dry cycle and non-dry cycle, and, yes, the dry cycle didn’t leave a drop of water, so that’s my recommendation. LOVE the door open feature! The door pops open a little, which helps disperse the steam. Perfect for winter!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this dishwasher after our nearly 11 year old GE Profile finally collapsed and no longer cleaned and dried the dishes. After comparing models between the Bosch 800 series vs this Kitchenaid, we choose the KA because it was very well rated for cleaning the dishes, we liked the design of the this 3rd rack more, and there was a solid price difference between the models.
We've had this dishwasher for a week, and the dishes have come out absolutely spotless and nearly 100% dry. The reason why we chose this model was because it had the advanced Pro drying heating system, as well as the open door function at the end of the cycle. Outside of some water buildup on the top of plastics because of how the plastic lids are grooved, our Tupperware comes out spotless and dry. Dishes and utensils also come out super clean with no rinsing before sticking the dishes in the dishwasher.
Also, even though our GE profile dishwasher was rated at 42 decibels, The KitchenAid sounds more quiet 44 decibels. The one downside is the cycle times do run over 3 hours, but we wash dishes overnight.
We purchased this dishwasher from Costco and also bought an extended warranty making it supported for at least 5 years. We are already thrilled that we've made this purchase, and hope to have this appliance for at least a decade or more.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I feel like I got lucky in choosing this dishwasher. It hadn’t even been released by the manufacturer, but the reviews of the previous model were so good that I felt safe pre-ordering it. It does a wonderful job on the dishes, and it’s so quiet that you have to be right next to it to hear it running. I love that it tells me it’s finished by opening slightly and turning on a white light. It also tells me that it’s “Clean.” It would be wonderful if it will last 26 years like my last KitchenAid dishwasher.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Like most folks, we replaced a unit that failed - it had a leak after 8-9 years. So far, we like the design of the new unit, but are still getting used to the different top rack silverware slots. The new unit seems slightly noisier than the KitchenAid unit it replaced - both rated at 44dBA. It may just be that the sounds are slightly different in pitch. In addition, the door hinge does not seem as robust. However the bottom rack is a better design, as it is not on slides and rolls out easier for filling. The SS finish seems less prone to staining than our previous unit. If we get 10 or more years of service from this one we will be very happy.

Clean and dry dishes.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The best dishwasher I have ever owned! Dishes are ALL clean. No dead spots in this dishwasher! Annnndddd…… the dishes are dry too! The fan circulates air when drying which acts like a convection oven. But then the best feature is after the full cycle the door automatically opens about 4”! It’s genius! All the hot, moist air escapes and the dishes can fully dry! Never had a dishwasher totally dry the dishes before, though there may be a small amount of water sitting on the top of a glass put in upside down! I highly recommend this model.

Washes Like A Dream But Annoying Buzzing Noise

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our third KitchenAid dishwasher. We are a repeat customer for a reason. The most recent model has some great shelf adjustments and the auto door opening at the end of the wash cycle is a nice touch. Our only complaint is the buzzing noise. We have an open concept home and the noise is very annoying. We’ve had a service call and the tech said that’s just the way they sound. If you can live with the buzzing, you will enjoy this dishwasher.
