Not what i hoped for

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was super excited about the drying feature. Cleans well however it has cracked several of my glassware items including the thicker glassware. The top rack is nice and the pop open feature to encourage better drying.. i still have to take things out and place on my drying rack at times. Buttons on the outside are better this model is very sensitive when it comes to the buttons on the inside, accidentally turn things on when i close it sometimes.. Im not one to complain but feel my hopes were high for this… noise is okay it is not silent.. capacity is decent though. Filtration

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not impressed compared to a 30 year old all plastic analog GE dishwasher. The KitchenAid makes some noise, not too loud but it sounds very wrong, like a starving pump. However we cannot determine if anything is actually wrong. The dishes come out not much cleaner than the old unit given the serious increase in run time. The routing of the water line goes under the waste water line in such a way the water feed line ends up supporting that short section of the waste water line. The electrical has to run under the most populated part of the assembly. If I had to lower the Kitchenaid any more I'd have to reroute the electrical around the pump assy. The self opening door for drying doesn't do much to improve drying either.

The unit lasted 2.5 years and then stopped working. Repair person replaced the control board to no avail.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Doesn’t clean very well. I’m on my third one, because with every new one That was delivered, there was something wrong. The filtration system design is awful and the arms are super flimsy. Go back to the old style motors and drains.

Love it, but consider the rack layout carefully!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off - if you’re not using powdered detergent in the prewash spot and running tap water until it’s hot before turning the dishwasher on, you’re doing yourself a disservice - it makes a colossal difference. Hot water with detergent knocks out most of the stuff from your dishes in the initial brief wash before it drains away the first time. Having it only get hot and soapy in the second wash means you’re keeping all the soiled stuff in the dishwasher for the remainder of the wash process. (Use cheap generic powder, the fancier more expensive brands perform worse to make their pods look better by comparison). Use powder or a pod, whatever, inside the closed section.)
Having the large top rack rather than the small flat one other dishwashers have is a love/hate for us. It doesn’t have room for coffee mugs on the small cup side and many of our glasses don’t fit on the side intended for those. The upper silverware tray isn’t very useful. But the glasses that comforter get cleaned really well.
Likewise, having the center rack farther down reduces available height both for it and the bottom rack, but we can fit most of the things we’d want in a normal top rack into it.
It does a really excellent job drying even plastics, but the bottom rack is dangerously hot and has warped/melted several of our plastic items. Softer ones survive, but inflexible hard ones are ruined. Plastic straws and cups were primary victims.
I wish it had some smart features to notify when it’s completed or needs to be cleaned, like our Samsung washer/dryer, but having the time expected literally showing as you select options is a very handy offset on that front , as is the unmistakable automatic opening of the dishwasher with the completed light lit.
I don’t really care about noise on it, but it is slightly quieter than our previous already very quiet dishwasher.
Filtration - I haven’t run into any issues here. We don’t usually put things in that are large or solid enough to require manual cleaning of the filters, and we’ve only had it a couple months.
Also take note that it was slightly larger than our last dishwasher and I had to perform some minor floor surgery to get it installed. I don’t think people in modern homes will have the same problem, though.
All in all, pretty happy with it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this dishwasher. It holds a lot with multiple ways to load. Very quiet. But most important, it really cleans! I used to rinse my dishes, especially with remnants of egg, cereal... The instructions, however, were very emphatic about not rinsing. So I stopped. And everything comes out sparkling clean. This includes dishes and forks with dried egg yolk! Also love that the door pops open at the end of the cycle and everything is very dry.
