New Dishwasher after 18years First KitchenAid

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was replacing a 18yr old dishwasher from another brand. I looked at hundreds of dishwashers across all the brands. I bought this one due to features, made in US and appearance as I was tired of looking at shiny stainless steel in my kitchen and this new Black Ore color was nice. This washer shares many of the same features, parts and design as the Whirlpool but with a few nicer touches. It cleans well. I don't think its as quiet as they claim but its much quieter then my old washer. The door and handle are solid. The controls are very sensitive probably to much so when wiping down. I do like the 4 second count down after you press start. The door opener is neat for people like me that dont use the heat dry cycles on my washers here in Colorado where it super dry. I never used it my old 18yr washer either. All the heat can reduce component service life. The door does not drop but its a bit stiff when laying all the way down. The racks are nice but the middle and top rack could be made to slide easier in and out and do feel a bit mid grade. Most companies never get this right when its so simple. The racks load well and have good tine pattern for the most part but the lanes could be wider. The dryer vent near the floor is a in different position then the Whirlpool. Depending on who much you use heated dry if you have wood floors the vent near the floor could be an issue. I found the sound insulation blanket cheap and crappy. For a few more dollars it could have been better. It has a louder drain cycle then I expected and more so then compared to an older much cheaper 18yr old washer. Ejection pump to the drain was not analyzed well. Time will tell how long it lasts. I only run 1-2 loads a week by myself. I certainly did not like trying to remove the plastic wrap from the door. The assembled it with the wrap stuck between the door panels and it was nearly impossible to remove without taking the door part and Im not using a razor blade to score and nick the steel. I still have bits and pieces around the door and control panel. Not happy about that. There were a few small corners where the steel angle bends were missing paint coating like 1-3mm points. The assembly instructions need work and you have to log into the website to get the complete instructions. They are missing some important notes about assembly the bottom access panel so it doesn't jam up on the vent on the bottom of the door. For a unit at this price point providing complete installation instructions should be a given. The leak detection is a nice feature. The leak pain should cover more then the water inlet though.

Great machine with quirky feature

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] “This is a great machine overall and it gets the job done well, but it has a few quirky features that take some getting used to. • The spacing on the bottom rack tines is too wide, so when you load dishes (especially plates), they shift around or even tip/fly over dramatically every time you open the door. • Cycle run times are very long—often longer than expected for everyday loads. • The top touch buttons are extremely sensitive; even a light hand brush or accidental touch restarts the cycle or messes with settings until you hit ‘cancel’ or ‘clear.’ Once you adapt to these quirks (like loading more carefully or using the control lock if available), it performs reliably—but they’re noticeable annoyances upfront.”

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this because we installed a KitchenAid dishwasher at our vacation home. We love how quiet it is and the dishes are spotless. The door opens to finish the drying process which is also a great feature. We love this dishwasher!

Clean & Quiet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this KitchenAid two weeks ago and have run it only three times. So far all is great although we will need to get used to the silverware basket with a lid requiring us to insert forks and spoons handle-down into the slots. Knives go in blade down. We might look into how/if the lids can be easily removed without damaging the basket rim.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this to replace a 25 year old Kenmore which died. Got a Kitchen Aid because of recommendations in reviews and my parents had a Kitchen Aid which lasted about 25 years.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The dishwasher is very nice looking and the capacity is great. I have only had it for a few weeks, but seems to clean great. My only issue is the standard ProWash cycle takes more than 3 hours!
