Great Cycles & Drying, Bad Bottom Rack

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like all the cycles that this dishwasher has. I like the pro wash that is like a smart wash and actually decides how long the cycle needs to be based on how dirty the water is. I like that it pops open once the dishes are done to let the steam out because it generally makes it so that the dishes don’t have water floating on top that goes everywhere when you empty it. So the dishes are actually dry when you empty it. I like how quiet it is and that the door closes quietly and gently it doesn’t make a loud noise and the door feels solid. I would change the basket design. Especially on the bottom shelf. It’s hard to fit what I need to fit in there because of the way the rows are arranged. In my last dishwasher, the racks on the bottom would fold down so that I could change the Shape of the rose for different things like pans or casserole, dishes, or plates, etc. I didn’t realize how important that system was to me until I didn’t have it. The 360 rack is cool, but not that cool. I can’t actually fit any of my coffee cups up there without it hitting the top. And the little silverware basket on the top 360 rack is not very helpful. I can put all my shorter glasses up there, which is good. I still haven’t really decided how much I really like that rack. It definitely doesn’t make up for the lack of flexibility on the bottom rack. All that sad I really love this dishwasher otherwise so they really need to fix that bottom rack and make it more flexible with how it can be loaded. Another thing that I do like is that on the front of the dishwasher there's a little light that tells you when the load is clean. You will also know because it automatically pops open when it's done to let the steam out. I wouldn't trade this feature I love this feature.

The Kitchenaid KDFS424SPS was quiet in the beginning, but less than 3 months later, it's making a constant loud buzzing noise while it's washing. One of the main reasons that I bought this was because it was supposed to be quiet. This is definitely not 44 decibels, and it's incredibly annoying. It's under warranty, but the repair person that was sent out said that this is normal. It wasn't like this in the beginning, and I've read other reviews saying that they could barely hear it running. Something is wrong! I'm extremely disappointed with this dishwasher and wish I'd bought another brand.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The third rack is the charm for us - we can fit everything in after a family gathering because of the extra capacity. This dishwasher replaced our former 15 year old Kitchenaid, and we see the innovation and quality have not diminished. We love the auto door-open feature at the end of the cycle - love the natural air drying. It’s wonderful to have so many cycles to choose from, too. Glassware as well as baking pans are sparkling clean. Cycles seem a little longer than with our older machine, but it’s so quiet it isn’t objectionable.

Worked once

Replaced a 24 year old Bosch dishwasher due to board issues and having a 22 yo KitchenAid in Florida that performs flawlessly I decided to to replace the Bosch with a high end KitchenAid. After startup issues it finally performed flawlessly ONCE and I thought everything is ok …not. It fills with water and the heating element heats the water but the pump never circulates and never cleans….time to call service- either the board, pump or both are defective…not good for a brand new U S made appliance

Very unreliable machine

Bought this at the end of February. Over a 6 month span it has been unusable for 2 months waiting for repairs. Same component failing.
