I bought this Glacier 30-Inch 490 MAX Blower to replace an older, lower-CFM Broan hood, choosing it for its strong CFM and hybrid baffle filters within a tight height limit (I have about 30" of clearance under my cabinets). Installation was easy, and Broan support confirmed via video call that it's installed correctly.
The issue: most of the exhaust air blows straight toward my face while cooking instead of upward. I'm 5'7", with the control panel at eye level, so my face sits below the vent — yet the airflow still hits me directly. My old Broan hood had an internal curvature in the vent that redirected air upward; this model's vent is a straight cut with no redirection, which seems to be the cause.
The light is bright and works well. Noise is hard to judge since it's partly masked by the airflow. Overall, the ventilation doesn't perform as expected given how the unit sits relative to the user — worth Broan revisiting the vent design.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am very happy with this product. The sensor works well although sometimes I have to turn it off myself. I loved how quiet it is on the lowest speed.

Great quiet fan, but beeps are LOUD! No vol button

Just another voice of support that there really should be either a way to turn off the beeps or a volume procedure. It's loud. It's the only thing about this range hood I don't like.
You do a lot of marketing for the low noise of the fan (which is true), but fail to think about the (unnecessary noise of the) beeps. I keep hoping there's a super secret button press code to turn it off.

Since the blower is so quiet on the lower speeds, this allows you to hear that the blower has been activated. It also helps our visually impaired customers that may have trouble seeing the buttons, hear the sound to determine the blower has been activated. Keep odor away

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this stainless steel design look which helps add to the modern look of my kitchen. It has excellent strong airflow which removes odor quicker than my previous one after cooking. It's actually pretty quiet too so I'm very happy with how it's performing so far. It has smartsense to adjust fan speed and has bright led lighting. Installation took almost an hour with help but I think I could've done it on my own. I definitely recommend this product.

Powerful range hood meets smart fan !!

Broan has done it again! I was thrilled to finally install and try out my new Broan range hood, model GLA3304SS. The design is sleek and modern, featuring a beautiful all-stainless steel finish that adds a professional touch to any kitchen.
One of the first things I noticed was how quiet the unit is, even at higher speeds. I really appreciate the multiple fan speed options and the adjustable lighting settings. A standout feature for me is the built-in infrared sensor that detects smoke and automatically adjusts the fan speed based on what you’re cooking—a huge plus for someone like me who cooks daily, especially with bold, flavorful meals (as we love to do in Hispanic households!).
I’ve been a loyal customer since purchasing my first NuTone range hood over 10 years ago, as a matter of fact it’s this very newer model that’s replacing my old range hood that I own for 10 years . Although it was tough to part with that older unit—which was incredibly durable, very low-maintenance, with its easily replaceable filters—I’m confident this new model will last just as long, if not longer.
Highly recommended for anyone looking to upgrade their kitchen with a stylish and smart ventilation solution!

Quiet smart range hood

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's incredibly quiet on its lower settings – a huge improvement from my old one! It does a good job clearing smoke and cooking smells, and the stainless steel design looks sharp. The LED lights are a nice touch. SmartSense feature is pretty cool too – it just revs up when it detects heat, so I don't even have to think about it. Installation was mostly straightforward though getting it perfectly aligned took a little patience. I'd say it's still a 2 person job. If you want a quiet, smart range hood that gets the job done, this one's a winner.
