Doesn’t work!

I received the waffle maker as a Christmas gift. I plugged it in per the instructions, and it preheated like the instructions said it would. After that, however, the waffle maker light turned white and the waffle maker went cold. I poured the batter in it thinking it was still warm and my batter never cooked. I tried replugging it in to different outlets and flipping it over multiple times and it still never worked. I’m very upset about this.
