Hot kettle body while boiling

While the kettle is boiling, the outside of kettle is burning hot. Sadly I return it. Also I am not sure about the plastic lid which would be in contact of the hot steam of boiling water. Otherwise it’s solid build and I like the style of it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best looking kettle I've had .Boils fast,i love itI will get more Kitchen Aid products.I received it today didnt take long coming to my location
