Great for some things

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is great for zoodles and apples. Issues though, you have to be very selective of sizing of purchased veggies and fruits. Peeling works if just the right size and skin not too thick. Doesn't work at all for carrots or thick skins like yellow squash.
Spiralizer is fantastic. My kids ask for 'springy apples' daily.
Cleaning is easy. Especially if you do it right away. It is dishwasher safe, but easier to just clean off in sink as soon as you are done. Highly recommend for the parts it's good for.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second one. The first one got burned in the house fire. if you got a bunch of things to peel its great. I made 5 gallons of wine and had to peel 20lbs of pears did it in no time at all. made light work of it. The spiralizer worked great also. It puts a new spin on my veggies. Makes it look like you went way out of your way for someone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After looking at Spiralizers for awhile and seeing how large they were, I loved the idea of a “portable” version for my Kitchen Aid.
I have only used it to spiralize zucchini but I was impressed with the efficiency of the unit.
I will say there is a learning curve to assembling and using this attachment and I watched the YouTube video a few times to learn how to put the whole thing together. It did a great job with the zoodles. I was very careful to follow the suggested size of the veggies which helped expedite the process. Next I plan to peel, core and slice apples for homemade applesauce. This is the first attachment I have purchased for my Kitchen Aid after 25 years of use. I hope to get plenty of use from it.

Disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the KSM2APC Spiralizer Plus as a gift, and it was one of accessories/attachments I have been most excited about since getting my 7qt Proline last year. I have had so much fun with everything else! This was frustrating for pretty much everything but zucchini (which was already easy enough to do in my old manual spiralizer). I studied the manual, watched dozens of videos, and gave it several tries - each time carefully cutting and prepping the food, trying out the suggested speeds and tips etc. The peeler never once worked for me - there was never a "click" into place feel and it slid right off no matter how I tried to adjust it. That was annoying but I could have lived with it. The momentum of the spiraling process kept bending the blades, and I was constantly adjusting afraid they would break. I was more successful using the largest blades, but I was really wanting curly fry sweet potatoes. On my fourth hopeful try, the skewer then completely broke off from its plastic attachment! Now I can't use it at all. If I can find a way to replace the skewer I will warily try again, but I at this point I can't recommend purchasing. Very expensive item for how flimsy it is; e.g., compared to the pasta extruder (for which the plastic parts of it are certainly sturdy for its job and work great) this didn't seem to do what it said it could for harder vegetables.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far I have only used it on apples. Cannot wait until the garden is full in next summer. Made quick work of apple pie and baked apples.

Can't adequately express my disappointment

I attempted to spiralize a potato yesterday, using the peeler. The base, peeler, and blade all locked into place. Not only was the potato not peeled, the 1/4 closest to the end turned into a liquidy mush. It did not spiralize. After a few turns, even tho the blade was locked into place, the blade flew off. I took everything apart and tried again with a 2d potato; same result. Thinking to try a different vegetable, I purchased zucchini, which I cut in 1/2 to shorten. Again, it did not peel. I got a few 1/2 moon slices, not a spiral, the end turned into a liquidy mush, and the zucchini burst apart. I tried again with the 2nd half; same result. Do not purchase.

Only works on potatoes.

Have used this a handful of times with potatoes and sweet potatoes with passable results. Peeler works. When trying to use it for anything else it does its best to mash whatever is on there. The bit that is supposed to hold it steady will absolutely destroy whatever is on there.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this right after Thanksgiving and have used it to make fresh apple cake and peel potatoes for mashed potatoes. Definitely made prep easier! Simple to use, and love that it comes in a nice storage case.
