Beware - flawed engineering

The vegetable holder - the 2" diameter pronged black plastic part that grips the vegetable to drive it through the blade - is way too small to grip anything but the smallest zucchini. Most of the medium and larger zucchinis from your garden will strip the grip as you try to spiralize them. Also the metal cylinder that protrudes from the center blade to try and keep the vegetable centered as it turns is to short to do its job - most of the zuchinis you try to spiralize will immediately pull off center as you start - preventing you from getting long noodles, or cause the other gripped end of the zucchini to strip its grip on the short prongs.

Perfect cuts, hard to remove blades

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the results and the pieces are easy to put together. However, the blades are difficult to remove. They just lift up, but it’s very difficult and the manual has no actual instructions on how to properly remove. Since they sort of pop into place, it’s hard to “unpop” them which frustrates me since this is the most dangerous part - the blade piece!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just buy a spiralizer attachment and found out that the blade on the peeler attachment is on the wrong side, so it does not peel, and now just got a email saying that it will take a considerable amount of time before I received the correct part, a factory mistake, and Kitchen aid is not pulling the spiralizer off the shelfs, therefor long waiting time to get the right part.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this attachment specifically to help reduce prep time for making my apple pie and now I wonder how I lived without it all this time. Works as advertised - core, peel, and slice apples in one easy step.

Looks complicated but is easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted this to use for peeling large amounts of potatoes for family dinners. I discovered that larger potatoes work the best. If smaller potatoes are used, I have to manually press the little curved blade against the potato and hold it while it spins. The Spiralizer really does make peeling potatoes a snap. It peels a nice thin, continuous strip of peel from the potato. I would advise washing your potatoes first, then cut a small piece from each end to make a flat end. Pop it onto the machine and let it spin. This is so much easier than peeling a big pile of potatoes by hand with a knife or vegetable peeler. I am very happy that I have the Spiralizer to add to my KitchenAid collection.

Only problem is the fork is plastic.

The fork part that sticks in the vegetable is plastic. Mine broke making the machine useless. Also not really made for small or large imperfections of a vegetable.
