Using my KitchenAid Mixer for GOOD, not EVIL

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the 7 blade spiralizer plus with peel, core and slice last month and all I can say is WOW! My THREE picky teenagers love the peeled, cored and sliced apples. Sweet potato curly fries are amazing! Too many amazing features to list here, but now i can use my KitchenAid mixer for good (fruits/veggies) versus evil (chocolate brownies, cakes, etc.)! Thank you KitchenAid for this amazing tool.

Works great (but beware butternut squash)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this with a credit because I knew it wasn't a must-have item for my specific kitchen needs. That said, it's working great so far and does a fantastic job with cucumbers and potatoes. I was a bit disappointed that it doesn't handle butternut squash very well because it's just too soft and big. But that's been widely reported by other users, so it's more a question of my expectations and (lack of) research. Anyway, happy with it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was pretty excited to have a spiraling peeling attachment for my kitchenaid. It was a little disappointed when it arrived. Some of the parts were sturdy and well made but there plastic counterparts were flimsy. I started with a zucchini as pictured, but it just gored the center and made very few “noodles”. Playing with adjusting the clamp seemed to not produce better results. It is not a complicated device but somehow I can’t seem to make the spiralizer work! :(

Great for some items but not so good for others

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a powerful and easy to use spiralizer that works great on some items, but not so well on others. It makes absolutely wonderful zucchini pasta and curly sweet potato fries, but when I tried to spiralize butternut squash it was a totally frustrating experience. The spindle holding the squash kept rotating through the squash, and despite my best effort to help the device, it was largely a failure at making butternut pasta. We ended up simply cutting up the squash and roasting. It appears that the small spindle that holds the vegetables works fine for some products but not for others, thus the lower rating. The cutting blades are sharp and cut through vegetables quite well. I like the fact it is powered by my stand mixer, and the cutter blade is brought to the food with a geared drive, meaning that all that is necessary to operate is load the food on the spindle, drop in a cutter blade, and turn it on. No pushing or tugging to move the food through cutters. The shipping box is designed as a handy storage case, which it needs to keep all the parts together and out of drawers (did I mention the cutter blades are quite sharp). It appears to be sturdy and well-made and I look forward to years of service, though I wish KitchenAid would develop a larger food holding spindle.
