Bearing issues in jug

Blender is brilliant but it doesn’t like blending thin liquids, which results in damage to the bearing. As the power is too much for the jug without resistance of thicker liquids. I’m on my fourth jug, which kitchen aid have been happily replacing but I’ve been told I’m on my last jug.

On second one. First one burnt out.

My first K400 burnt out after about 18 months and I was able to get a full replacement with the warranty. My second one has a burning smell coming from the base sometimes. I find bits of crumbled plastic around the spine. It is working well, though. I make smoothies out of frozen fruit about 5 days of each week.

Unfortunately it’s new but jug already leaks.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Already some minor leaks at base of jug although the blender is only a month old. Blender performs well although it was only purchased to make smoothies which it seems to do very well. Dial feels quite flimsy. Self cleaning feature useful but still needs dishwasher. Complexity of lid design makes drying it tedious. Would like to see a plastic cover provided for the exposed drive mechanism area at top of base for when stored on kitchen bench. Would also be useful for the metric and imperial measuring lines on the jug (which are not very distinct) to be on the same side of the jug.

Repeat issues with the jug

This was bought for me as a gift a number of years ago. Between two and three years after it was given to me (so within warranty period), it developed a rancid smell coming from the blade area of the jug - it appeared the seals had given out or similar. Had the jug replaced, which was fine, but now, the same thing has happened again. I rarely blend ice in it, and if I do, it's crushed ice, and it's majority used for making smoothies, so I'm not using it to blend up rock solid products. Now, the unit itself it out of warranty, the jug is only a couple of years old, and I'm looking at purchasing from another brand to avoid this reoccuring issue, as I can't use it as the smell goes through the drinks and it's foul. Photo attached showing the foul smelling liquid that oozed out when using the cleaning cycle last weekend. When it works, it's great, but frustrating when this has now occured twice.

Shame it's plastic

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would've given this rating a 5 star until my OJ stained the plastic jug. Everything else about this blender is great. The base is sturdy, blades and settings does the job, especially the self cleaning mode. But I used OJ in it and it's stained the plastic orange! Don't understand why I can't be a glass jug, only the blender colour of the year give you a glass jug and I don't understand that. Also, note that when filling in this feedback you only get 2 gender choices. I think it's time Kitchenaid became more inclusive in 2024.

Great buy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this blender as a replacement to an old, old blender. It’s such a revelation. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. The variable speed option is a game changer and the motor is so powerful while being quieter than others. I really like the small footprint of the machine too as well as the ‘add ons’ I purchased. So easy to clean as well.
