Terrible design of the bowl.

The blade just damaged the bowl. It is very lucky that no one get hurt.

Love it. However, the clip to the top has now broken for the second time. I can manage by holding the lid down manually.

Very disappointed in this product. We chose this food processor for the size and because the design prevents leaking from the center of the bowl where the blades attach in many products. The lack of leaking has been the only thing I like about this product. The whole product feels very cheaply made and I dont expect it to last more than a year or two with regular use. The motor is terribly weak for such a large base. The pastry blade does not work for biscuits or pie dough. The lid is poorly designed as well as the locking system of the bowl. You have to be extremely careful lifting it out if the content are liquid like salsa or you'll make a huge mess. The slicer/shredder blade works well but the opening is so small you can't slice anything larger than a carrot or celery and blocks of cheese must be cut in half. I haven't used the whipping blade so can't comment but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Weak clasp on lid

Have had clasp that holds lid break twice now. Manufacturer did replace it the first time by sending an entirely new food processor. Sent back the old. Within two weeks the replacement process suffered the same failure. Have not used since. Great appliance when it works.

Broken With little use! stay away

I have had this food processor just over a year. I use it once or twice a month usually for salsa making. Yesterday I was making bolognaise and breaking up the tomatoes in the bowl. The motor still worked but the blade quit spinning. When my husband looked close the blade dug into the bowl. So he looked below the bowl and the metal part that sits in the motor unit that the bowl sits in was cracked and split. To make matters worse I tried to get onto the chat site and they just kept telling me they would send me transcripts, but no one was there!

Broken latch after light use

The food processor itself is fine. It saw very little use over the two years we have owned it and had always worked well. The blade selection that it comes with is useful for a wide range of uses. I will say that it is not the easiest to clean, but I think that is the norm with food processors. However, like many others, the latch broke off the last time we tried to use it. While I understand that these parts will not last forever, the fact that it broke after only two years of very occasional use is very disappointing, especially when I have other KitchenAid products that have lasted decades.
