6 weeks and now I have a broken phone

The phone lasted 6 weeks until it fell from my pocket and tweaked the screen completely destroying the main screen. My Flip3 lasted 4+ years and multiple falls. Why is it getting worse instead of better?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
