It's quieter and has more options than my 20 year old Sharp. It is 1100 watts vs 1000 for the old one.

Works fine. But I do miss the alarm that beeps every 30 seconds when the item has finished microwaving. My old one (a G.E.) had this facility . So I sometimes forget I'd been microwaving something. DO like the array of choices open to me.
