It is loud when it is running and the vent assembly is crooked. There is service order pending, but the work is still not finished and a part is on back order

We want to help you with your microwave; we see that you are working with one of our teams regarding your unit. We recommend continuing working with us towards a resolution.
Replaced 12 year old GE convection that kept blowing cooktop bulbs. Simple install, similar controls as my older version, sans convection that I don’t think I ever used. We followed the instructions to install, and then figure out that it would have fit exactly into the old frame, so wasted about an hour removing the old wall connections….
Great having a dial to easily add seconds, or can just hit 30 second button a few times.
LOVE the pull out vent that covers the entire cook surface!
It is a bit louder than my prior model, so really a 4.5.
Not a fan of the lack of numbers pad. You must twist a knob to set a time and it goes in 15 second increments. After 4 minutes then it goes to 30 second increments. Also vent fan is VERY noisy
I’ve always trusted GE because their microwaves used to feel solid and well built. This model does not. The door sounds tinny and hollow when closing, and the bottom vent panel rattles while in use. It works, but it feels cheaply made. If build quality and noise matter to you, look elsewhere.

Our products are designed with durability in mind, and we use high-quality materials to manufacture our appliances. Your feedback is extremely important to us, and we will pass these comments regarding the microwave door along to our product team to review.
Love the capacity of this monster! I however do not love the "white" display light, a little more "blinding" than the softer light of its greenlit counterparts. Wish the vent go from low to medium then high instead of the reverse- too loud it startles at first!

We appreciate your feedback, we are going to share your comments regarding the display lights and vent speeds with our product team for review.
We replaced another GE profile microwave with this one since I wanted a microwave that had a an exhaust fan that extended over the front burners (my stove has the large burners in the front). My husband swapped them out pretty easily. The one I replaced was powerful and heated things very quickly. I love the ability to press on the hood and have the exhaust fan extend over the front burners to help suck up the smells (from frying in particular). This model doesn’t have the panel with the numbers making it cumbersome to set exact cooking times; instead it has a knob that sets the time and also the different modes. I HATE this knob because now I have to set the time closest to the time I want and then once the microwave goes on (per GE) I have to adjust to the time I actually want (which gets confusing since it keeps counting down while I’m trying to set it). It’s really annoying that it’s set up to increase/decrease in 15 second/minute increments. Who thought this was a good idea? Other than that, it works well, and it’s manufactured to work with a GE profile stove (while my stove is GE it’s not a profile one so this feature doesn’t work.) I would have checked the reviews prior to buying this (my husband purchased it) and if I saw a review like mine, I wouldn’t have purchased it. All of my other GE appliances work well (love the dishwasher) but this microwave falls short. Sorry GE

The model PVM9225SRSS does come with a dial on the control panel. We'll be sure to pass along your feedback on the dial control. This microwave comes equipped with an extended vent, so the microwave capture rate is double the rate of typical over-the-range models. Make sure you take advantage of the Steam Clean mode that makes it easy to clean spills and stuck-on food in no time. You can find the instructions on using this feature on pg. 16 of the owner's manual here: https://products-salsify.geappliances.com/image/upload/s--oo4GU8qf--/a9a00565087fe27fbae70f5682b78d4fb2786df1.pdf.
This was a replacement for our 6 year old GE microwave. First, it is noisy when it starts then quiets down a bit. Seems like something is out of balance. There is no nightlight feature. It seems to have less feature than our old one.

We recommend having the noise you've described checked by calling our GE Appliances service team - Bodewell at 1-833-426-3393 to schedule an appointment to have your microwave evaluated and repaired as needed. While this microwave doesn't offer a specific night light setting, it does offer a High and Low setting.
I have spoken with two different agents, chatted with another agent, and two out of the three are insisting on gaslighting me that this unit only has 2 grease filters despite the photos on this page showing 4 and the owner’s manual referencing 4. My unit only came with the front two that are only used when the hood is extended. I would love to buy the two for the back that are always exposed and used when the exhaust is being used. But because the diagram on GE’s website doesn’t give a part number and doesn’t show those grease filters, GE’s agents are acting like they don’t exist. Obviously there should be grease filters there because otherwise those back vents are exposed which leaves everything behind those vents, including the LED wiring, exposed to grease. And again, the photo on this page and the picture in the owner’s manual show FOUR grease filters. I want the ones for the back, I will pay for the ones that go on the back. I just need to know the part number because the ones that go on the back are smaller, I can’t use the same ones from the front. I estimate the back ones need to be around 4.5” x 7.5” where the front ones that are on the extended hood are 5.5” x 7.5”.

We'd like to share some information about the grease filters and we apologize for any confusion. This model comes with two grease filters installed at the bottom of the unit, which does collect and protect the entire unit from grease. The product photo included does show a total of 4 filters, but this image is displaying how the filters are inserted, without having the preexisting filters removed.
