Not worth the price

Stopped working after a year. Plastic components in the pop out vent that break off. You have to unscrew the frame to clean the filters. Don’t buy it.

While we understand the importance of an appliance lasting for a long period of time, it is not possible to determine the product failure rate, lifespan, life expectancy, or life cycle of an appliance. There are multiple variables involved such as frequency of use, type of use, location of appliance, care, and maintenance. Your feedback is very important to us, and we will be sure to pass these comments along to our product team for review, as we're always looking for new ways to improve our products.

This microwave has shorted out. Not heating at all. Sounded like an electronic arcking within the control pad. Instantly quit heating.

Bad Fail-Safety

I want to talk about the bone-headed idea of the microwave not running w/o food in it. Running a microwave w/o food in it is bad for the microwave---correct.
So, having the microwave not run unless food is in it is a good idea! How has GE acheived this? It does this by monitoring the door opening and closing. DUMB! I can run the microwave with food in it and if I come back to it 10 minutes later to restart, I can't! If I open and close the door, it will start. Why does it not know that the door has not been opened since it last was run? Actually, I could have opened the door, removed the food and it would not know and would run now w/o food in it. This breaks the logic of failsafe engineering. SHAME ON GE!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Your feedback is very important to us. We would like to provide some guidance to help with this feature on your microwave unit. If food is placed into the cavity before selecting a cooking sequence, opening and closing the door activates the switch, initiating the 5-minute internal timer. The door latch switch must be opened and closed before hitting “START,” which signals the microwave that food has been placed inside. \nThis unit also has a cooking complete reminder. It will remind you that you have food in the oven, the oven will display F OOD IS READY and beep once a minute until you either open the oven door or press the Cancel/Off button. You can find more details about this and other sensor cooking features in the manual at the link here (Page15-16) https://products-salsify.geappliances.com/image/upload/s--oo4GU8qf--/a9a00565087fe27fbae70f5682b78d4fb2786df1.pdf\n\n

Do not purchase

I have had this microwave since september of 2023. I didn't start using the microwave until January of 2024 when my kitchen was complete. It died about a month ago. So...I used it for a year and a half, and now I have to buy a new one. Absolutely unacceptable.

We are more than glad to lend a hand with your microwave. Sometimes shutting off the circuit breaker or fuse that supplies power to the microwave oven for 30 seconds will help. We recommend doing this.

Keep an eye on your inbox for an email from a team member seeking additional details. Please respond promptly when you receive it.
