Helpful and useful information

I’m in my second week of wearing the index sleep monitor. It does provide helpful information, however I’m not sure how accurate it is. Last night I woke up and was awake for several minutes, yet the monitor did not register any awake time for the entire night (and I know I woke up several other times although for short periods of time). Hopefully this was a one off incident and it will accurately track my sleep going forward.

Not Happy at all

Initially the Index sleep worked fine. Then 3 days after I began using it, it stopped syncing to my Connect App. I have tried everything including reaching out to Garmin Support and following their instructions. Still nothing, so the Index sleep sits on my nightstand while I wear my Fenix 8 24/7.

Currently an expensive and very small brick

The sleep monitor worked great for 2 nights but then stopped syncing. It also won’t re-pair with the phone after multiple attempts and according to Garmin support there is no way to reset it using the Garmin express app on a computer. So now I have a non-working device with no clear way to fix it.

It does the job but not great.

I bought this and have used it every night almost. It does the job but for the first few days I wasn’t sure so I kept my watch on. There was one night after I stopped wearing the watch, it didn’t load sleep data. I am a sleeper that moves and found the sleep band does not stay in place. It consistently slips and I am constantly adjusting in the middle of the night. If the Velcro isn’t on perfectly it will be unaligned and scratch the skin of the arm causing an irritation. Being the band is only most accurate on the upper arm above the elbow, I find this product is not worth the money and better to just keep the watch on for sleep tracking. I would not spend the money again or recommend the band to others.

Like it isn't event there

I've had this for a month and love it. My biggest wish is that you got to see the live feed data not just the imported data. This was a must to not wear my watch every night. I do wish that the battery was a tad longer, but when it's just sitting at home it really doesn't matter.

Sleep Band does not record sleep correctly
on August 17, 2025

I bought the Garmin Sleep Band almost a month ago. It does not record sleep correctly on most nights. Some nights, it records only a few hours of sleep. Other nights, it does not record sleep at all. The worst part is that the bad data from the Sleep Band is used to override good data from my Forerunner 45 in the Garmin Connect app. Then, the Sleep Coach uses the bad data to tell me how bad I must feel and how much extra sleep I need. It is all very frustrating and depressing.

Silent Alarm Helps Keep Me Married
on August 17, 2025

If you are like me, and I imagine a number of Garmin users, you are up before sunrise getting in your run or ride. However, my wife needs her sleep and an audible alarm wakes her up and often she can’t get back to sleep. My Garmin watch has a silent alarm; however, it is a bit bulky for me and often wakes me up when I roll over. So, I was excited when Garmin introduced the Index Sleep Monitor embedded in a soft cloth and worn on the upper arm. It is incredibly comfortable, which helps with my sleep, and gently vibrates to wake me up based on the time I set in the Garmin Connect app, which keeps my wife happy. You can set the vibration level to low, medium, or high.
I also believe the Sleep Monitor does a better job of sleep tracking than my Garmin watch, as the watch sometimes struggles to accurately take readings through my skinny, bony wrist and thin skin. Also, I often turn off the oxygen saturation sensor on my watch since it is energy hungry, whereas it is always turned on for my Sleep Monitor while maintaining excellent battery life. The sleep data is great, but I would have bought it just for the comfortable, silent alarm.
The only reason I don’t give the product a 5 star rating is because it doesn’t always easily synch with Garmin Connect, which is something I never have to think about with my watch or bike computer.
