The Index Sleep Monitor works very well.

I was able to use it for two weeks I but had to stop using it for the past 3 days because it created a rash on my right bicep. I believe that dermatologists call this rash "contact dermatitis". Do you have other customers with the same problem. Will the monitor work properly if I inser3t a piece of cloth between its sensor and my arm? Will try using it tonight.

confusing

Very confusing using this product if you have a Garmin watch. The watch prevails if you wear it overnight and you will lose any sleep monitor data There is no mention of this in the instructions and I had to call Garmin. The best I can determine is you have to take off the watch at night if you use the sleep monitor. Make sure you put the watch in sleep mode at night or it will track the non use data. Very disappointed with Garmin. Also I am not so sure about the pulse Ox accuracy in both the watch and the sleep monitor. I compared with a traditional digital device and it was off by 2-3 units (watch=94-95%, digital=97-98%). This makes sense as finger tip/nail bed has more capillaries to determine accurate Pox.

My husband got me this for Christmas. It's pretty comfortable and glad to see more accurate metrics of my sleep.

Works well!

This arm band works well if you are sensitive to wearing a watch at night and want to continue tracking sleeping while being integrated into the garmin ecosystem. Won't even notice it's on and can at time forget about it when waking up. Only thing that could use some improvement is you need to use it during the designated time in the app

Great data but glitchy connectivity

The Garmin Index Sleep data is much more consistent and reliable when compared to wearing a Garmin watch. Also, much more comfortable than wearing a watch at night. It was easy to set up and once the band is adjusted, you simply slip it on at night and off in the morning. However, in two weeks of use, I've had a couple of connectivity issues, including the loss of my Bluetooth connection (had to re-pair the device). The morning sync can be relatively slow, so make sure you see the sleep data in the Connect app before confirming the morning data on your watch, otherwise you'll see odd Body Battery data.

This device takes a little getting used to, but as much more comfortable than sleeping in a watch while Garmin is much better than Apple in terms of battery life I do appreciate how I can charge my watch overnight and still see how I’m sleeping overall I’m very happy with this device also FSA eligible, which is a plus

Cool Concept but Major Flaws
on January 12, 2026

I bought this about two weeks ago. I’ve worn it every night since. It’s comfortable, easy to charge, and has detailed instructions on how to use. However, ever since I’ve used the monitor my HRV has been reading very low. This has affected my training plan because now my Garmin thinks I’m strained. I switched back to my watch, and my HRV is right back to normal. After doing some additional research, this seems to be a trending issue amongst users. If you are relying on Garmin training, I don’t recommend using this.

Comfortable, but connection problems

I find the Index Sleep Monitor to be much more comfortable than wearing my Forerunner watch to bed. I've had a couple of times when the Sleep Monitor lost connection. I had to restore the connection in order for it to offload data.
I think it's a good product and I'll continue to use it. Unfortunately, It doesn't seem to work seamlessly all the time. Hope they fix the wrinkles.
