Please bring back the older, richer looking model one!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have several original Tivoli Model Ones. I miss the original with the cherry frame and the ivory face. It was so much warmer and richer looking than the current walnut frame with the beige face. This new one looks drab and the alternative cherry with silver is a terrible combination.

I recently bought a new Model One because I have an old edition made by Henry Kloss years ago when they were sold out of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Simple "Scandinavian" design was all the rage back then. The older one has been aging. along with me, and needs repairs. I'm 93 and have used a number or radios over the years. The Model One is the best.

Wish there was a tone adjustment

I like the Model 1 a lot, but with my age has come some upper-frequency hearing loss, and I'd love to be able to crank the treble a bit relative to the bass to make speech, in particular, more intelligible.

Stylish and Sounds Good

This little tabletop radio was a replacement for a compact radio CD player that died after 20 years, kind of unexpectedly and mysteriously. In some ways, it is a downgrade, because it is simply an AM/FM radio. No CD and I decided not to pay extra for the Bluetooth, since I rarely used the receiver for anything but radio. But this is a major improvement because the other devise was too complicated (too many buttons) and tuning was a pain and the reception was often off or required a lot of adjustment with cumbersome antennas. This radio comes with a single old-fashioned metal extending antenna that my wife had assumed was now obsolete (but I assured her is not) and there is a handy little light that turns green when you tune in sufficiently to get a solid reception. It is all that I desired and was looking for. I now have a great-sounding radio for my public radio station and it sounds good when they stop talking and they play music as well.

This new one is a very good radio. However, the reception is not as good and the wood box and face panel not as elegant as the decades old Henry Kloss Model One it replaced when it's volume control stopped working.

I am very disappointed in the quality of the audio - which was the main reason for the purchase. Even with the antenna up and in a capture range, the audio fades in and out. Hard to keep my favorite stations in tune.
