My 100 yeo Aunt has this radio and I have always admired the clarity. I had to have one too! Excellent for listening to classical and jazz!

I knowingly purchased a discontinued item because I loved the color. The radio works well, but the face plate slides out of the wooden box.

Failed as soon as warranty ended

Nice radio, beautiful, sound(ed) good, failed one month after warranty ended. Now it will not work at all, no sound. The power light comes on but it does not produce any sound.

Small Wonder

Many days I spend hours listening to this tiny speaker in its little black wooden box - in preference to larger stereo and home theater setups. I turn it on for news from Public Radio, enjoying the clear, natural-sounding voices, and when classical music programming begins, I am seldom tempted to stop.The output is sweet and smooth, wide-range, fatigue-free, and gives an amazing illusion of three-dimensional sound and of theater or studio acoustics. My memories go back to serious monophonic hi-fi, and when I first turned this unit on I thought, “Oh yes, I know that sound - that’s great!”My cat seconds the motion ... and she, in principle, hates all music.

I purchased this one for my brother. He heard mine and had to have one for himself.. I bought mine "back in the day" --all those years ago because I was impressed with its resonant sound and its simple yet elegant appearance. It rivals Bose but at much less the cost, This is the one you want!
