I love this radio

I love this radio! Get one and hear subtle notes lost on cheap ugly units. I have two, one for home and one for my shop.

A great product with great sound for its size and cost

A great product with great sound for its size and cost. The radio tuner pulls in lots of stations yet does a good job of rejecting weak signals. The sound is very good and can fill a reasonably large room without distortion. I used it with both an iPod and a PONO player. both sounded very good. Highly recommended.

Longstanding volume control defect still not fixed

Purchased this radio almost a decade ago and loved the sound but after a few months the volume control went bad and it would only put out sound at nearly blast. This new purchase has the same problem and it emerged within a week! They never fixed volume control defect.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My 80+ year old Dad asked me to find him a new radio. He wanted a tabletop model and I knew I needed to find something nice but easy to use. He already has a hi tech tv, laptop, smart phone etc. so I didn't want another overly complex device that I would have to support. I looked at a lot of fancy big name units but they were a little complicated. This one has only three knobs, and appeared to be a quality unit. When I got it I unboxed it to check it out at home before setting it up in his apartment. i was instantly surprised by the sound this little box generates. The bass seemed a little boomy for my type of music but that is going to vary depending on the radio station. Also such a small driver in a ported enclosure will usually do that as it is only capable of going so deep in the low end. Many FM stations also overemphasize the bass. My initial impression was that I would prefer a little more high end as well but overall it was well balanced and very listenable. After letting it play for a while on one of my favorite stations I decided it was actually very listenable and I could be happy with one myself on my desk or in my workshop. The tuning knob has a certain precision to it and is easy to tune in to a strong signal. You can also turn the volume knob all the way without distortion at the maximum. The bottom line is he is very happy with it and has said so several times. He listens to talk radio and FM country music as well. He is very pleased with the AM section and has had a great time tuning in some of the very distant night time AM stations. The included external FM antenna is just a piece of wire but helps with even local radio reception when you extend it out. This little box is perfect for his needs.

Brilliant product. Beautiful in form. Sturdy. Good tuning. Great sound. Fills my whole kitchen living room with sound. Excellent analogue product without all the digital wireless BS. Couldn't be improved in any way.

I absolutely love this radio. I couldn't wait to get it, and when I did, it was all that I had hoped for. All I wanted was a radio. No clock, no Bluetooth, no remote, nothing but a simple, good sounding radio. I love the simplicity, and the tuning dial is great. I can zero in on stations I never even heard of. I bought an extra antenna just in case I needed it, but I'm getting super clear reception just by itself. I am a huge NPR listener, and this is the perfect radio for me. Voice AND music comes out equally clear. I have a Bose Wave system, and I love it as well, but for simplicity AND good sound, I would seriously consider getting a 2nd one. It's compact, with no components to lug with me if I choose to use the radio elsewhere. If you are a home listener, as I am, you will be glad you picked this one.
