Good idea, but it doesn’t work well

At its lowest sensitivity setting, the camera is set off by the slightest movement of a leaf blowing in the breeze. I had hoped it would capture good pictures of a potential burglar, but a snapshot is taken so quickly when any motion is detected that it captures a foot or a hand, not the face or entire body.

1. Adjust Motion Detection Sensitivity
Open the Wyze app and navigate to the camera’s Settings > Detection Settings.
Under Motion Detection Sensitivity, move the slider to Low to reduce false triggers caused by minor movements like leaves blowing.

2. Configure the Detection Zone
In the same Detection Settings menu, tap Detection Zone and toggle it on.
Adjust the detection area to focus only on the critical zones where you want motion to be detected. This can help avoid unnecessary triggers from irrelevant areas.

3. Customize Event Recording
Go to Settings > Event Recording in the Wyze app.
Enable Motion and select All Events.
Tap Customize Detections and ensure the boxes for Tag and Notify are checked for relevant motion types.
Test the camera by creating movement in the desired area to ensure it captures the full subject.

4. Test and Optimize Placement
Ensure the camera is positioned to capture the full body of a person entering the detection zone. Adjust the angle and height for optimal coverage.

Clear camera view

It is a nice fixture that replaced my bulb and separate camera. I am still learning it and have yet, if possible, to adjust the bulb timing separately from the camera detection. Would like the bulb to dim more than it does at present. I can put it at zero and it still emits a lot of light. Detection zone is not 100% as it detects outside of that window.

We love this little camera! We struggled with putting a camera at our front door since we would have to hire an electrician in order to put on out there. This is perfect! The quality is excellent, the light can be automated and even though we don't need to, I love the option of connecting additional bulbs together.
