There’s nothing wrong with door lock.

Nice microwave works.
Everyone complaining about how the door button breaks needs to just read the manual.
There’s a two step door lock safety feature that can be disabled if the microwave is in an area where children can’t reach.
Hold “stop/ unlock” until you see dl : 0
Press “0” … you’ll then see dl : 1
Press start.
Press “0” … you’ll then see dl : 1
Press start.
Hope this helps others.
Kitchen aid you should do a better job informing your customers. There’s no video about this anywhere.

Why?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought all appliances for our new house. Never saw the microwave till it was installed. The farm sriund it was severely dented and had to be replaced. Also why would you have to push an unlock button to open the microwave? I can see it if the microwave is running but even when it stops you have to push an unlock button. Makes no sense.

Powerful and Well Built Microwave

I sold appliances for over 30 years and have always loved KitchenAid appliances. This unit is much better built than any of the other units I have had. It is a little noisier than some of the other ones I have owned, but I will take a little bit more noise for a better built unit.
One of the first things I did was turn off the child safety feature. Only adults in the building.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Beautiful but not easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the microwave, but I do not like the control panel at all. It is very difficult to use. Just like setting the clock and I want to warm something for 5 seconds. Can't be done!

Confusing instructions

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am disappointed in the "ease of use" of this microwave. I have owned and used many microwave ovens in my life and find that setting the power and cook time is overly complicated and user UNfriendly. I am still trying to figure it out even after reading the instructions, which did not help at all. Who writes your manuals? Do they proofread them, or have someone unfamiliar with the product walk through the instructions to see if they make sense? Most microwave ovens allow you to set the power by pressing Power, then a number, and set the time by pressing the Cook Time and then the time, both would be displayed in the display window, so you'd know what you selected. This is what people expect. What you have done is not an improvement.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
