Perfect for monitoring without recording

I have had one camera and base station for 2 weeks and I am over the moon!!! I needed a product where during the summer I could work but also watch the kids in the pool and on the trampoline. I love that I can do this LIVE from my TV or my phone. It was an easy set up and the picture and sound quality is great! Only downfall is that when monitoring on the TV you can't use the microphone. The app it works fine. The mount for the camera is a bit difficult (the screws are tiny). I ended up using the solar panel mount for the camera and mounting the solar panel a different way. I wish the camera came with the same type of mount for the panel. The best thing is that I DON'T need a subscription since I am only using it to monitor. However, I plan on buying more cameras and will eventually switch out the competitors camera's and add the subscription for security monitoring.

It was super easy to install and the app was extremely easy to use and set up my camera. It’s been installed for 4 days now. The battery seems to last a long long time. The picture is crystal clear day and night. I’m going to get a few more.

Not the best experience

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This wireless camera was a pain to get up and running. The application was having issues updating the firmware. Camera only works with 2.4g wireless. Battery life is a little more than 50 hours. Mounting options are good. Video quality is ok. 1 to 3 second lag at times.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Additionally, be sure that you'd adjusted the video quality to your liking. Once the camera is open to the live feed, click on the purple box in the left corner and select the highest format: HD.

MY outdoor camera

Had another outdoor camera, but it would not stay in one place, keep loosing the internet feed, and it was very hard to keep it running, Then I notice a advertisement about Roku camera, Bought it set it up and it only took about five minutes and it was up and running, It`s a great picture and I can even view it on my TV, easy to switch over, and back to watching my shows I like to watch, Its store the photo it take on the micro SD card, even go notified when a cat walked across its path, the other camera would not do that, I like the camera so much I bought two more Great instructions to follow ease of set up, I would but more if needed. Thanks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I first want to talk about everything that comes in the box. You will be presented with everything required besides a screwdriver or power drill, whichever you prefer, to get the camera set up. You have a base station, ethernet cord, magnetic removable base (which is adjustable), camera, charging cable, etc. This does require an app to be downloaded and it does require a subscription, if you want videos saved for playback, etc. The camera does take a microSD card, we did not put one in yet. I'm not sure if you can bypass the subscription if you have an SD card or not. After downloading the app, you will want to start plugging stuff in and such prior to setting up the stuff in the app. You will be setting up both the base and the camera in the app. You may be prompt to do a firmware update for both the base and the camera. The base can be connected via wifi or the ethernet cable, but I found that I was having issues with the firmware update updating via wifi for the base, the camera worked fine. After updating, I did reconnect the base via wifi and it worked fine. The base is suggested to be within 6ft of the camera. The magnetic base is very sturdy! I do wish there was some sort of anti-theft hardware for it though! The app itself does not give much option for notification customization, so, for me (Android - galaxy phone), I held down on the app like I was going to uninstall it, hit app info - notifications - roku smart home, and updated my sounds/volume from there. Receiving notifications about motion is a bit delayed, but not by a whole lot. Quality is not bad at all, but will also depend on your camera position - try to keep it shielded from too much sun light. All in all, very pleased with this roku outdoor camera! The simplicity of installation is amazing, especially since you arent having to wire anything!

Horrible product

I bought the roku indoor camera and I paid month by month and it worked fine...as soon as I signed up and paid for a full year subscription my camera quit sending me notifications no matter what I did...I ended up closing my account and lost the money I paid for the full year.. very disappointed because I can't afford much and I just wasted my money on roku..WARNING TO EVERYONE DO NOT BUY ROKU!!!!!

I bought this camera in February, about 8 months ago. I needed something for the front door that was wireless and this hopefully was going to be my solution. Initially, it was very difficult to set up. I had a really hard time getting it to connect properly with the base and with my network. Mind you, I work in IT, so I have a decent background in these things. I don't think it is an easy system for a non technical person at all. After I finally got it set up, it seemed to work well for a while. The first battery charge lasted about 5 months or so. In the last 2 weeks the camera stopped connecting to my wifi. I have 5 other cameras of a different brand in my home and they all connect just fine, so I know it isn't an issue with my network. I had just charged the camera a couple months prior and it said I had 79% battery left, but I brought it inside and charged it back up anyways. It finally reconnected while I had it in the house so I brought it back outside. Within one day, the battery dropped halfway and stopped connecting again. I brought it back inside again, and even though I could see the battery charging in the app, I still could not connect to the camera. I tried removing the camera and re-syncing it, but it would not find the camera at all. I gave up. I am going back to the other brand I use, this camera did not even last a year and it was a waste of my money. The other Roku camera I bought after I had this one up, also is now starting to fail (indoor 360 model, barely lasted 6 months). These cameras are junk and are not meant to last long at all. I do not recommend Roku cameras.
